He's doing a half hour excercise. With 2 trainers and the doctor operated on his foot. http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/p/2005-08-01/12131698276.shtml A clip on Yao's interview. Done around 20050730? You can see him doing show shot around at around the 10 minutes mark. He looks quite fit to me. rtsp://real.cctv.com/tiyushijie/2005/07/tiyushijie_56_20050730_3.rm
What application will play the 2nd url? I tried DivX, Quicktime, RealPlayer, Windows Media and Winamp all without success. Thanks in advance.
Thanks. The video was a bit choppy but you could see him moving around. Anyone with info on Yao's rehab is much appreciated.
If you have realplayer associations then you can just click on the link. Or copy the link and paste it into your realplayer url. The video is pretty crummy though. It's only streaming at 56kish, not broadband.
Better download it before you start watching. On Linux I use mplayer like this: mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile yao.rm rtsp://....... Under windows, I think even flashget can download rtsp streams.
Any more info on Yao's rehab? Is he lifting? How well is he moving around? By now, maybe someone knowledgeable would know and can say if he's on track, ahead of schedule or behind schedule. I thought it was worth keeping this thread alive since Yao's rehab and possible backcourt moves are about all that's left to talk about until the preseason.
Can't read it myself, but supposedly this article: http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2005-08-05/00141704068.shtml Says that Yao has trimmed back down to 308 from the 330 when he landed in China.
Here's another translated article courtesy of Pryuen from the RealGM and Yao Ming Mania boards. http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2005-08-10/11281712087.shtml And here's a pic of Yao working out with Falsone (who's sporting a pretty nice looking "evil twin" 'stache and goatee):
Thank you. This is what I've been waiting for: Knowing Yao is on the road to full recovery and that he has started lifting.
Totally Sweet!!! Yao's looking a little pumped in the shoulders and bi's. Although I must say I am a bit suprised he is only working with what looks to be 50lbs (22.7kg) per dumbell, seems a bit light IMO.
sounds to me like they may be rushing yao back a bit so he can play in the higly anticpated most significant torunament in freakin (Doha) Quatar! are they going to ride mules to the stadium. speaking of mules, having a basketball torunament in quatar seems kinda like having mule raceing tournament in brooklyn.
He shouldnt get ripped or really bulky, it'll force him to relearn his shot for his new arms. Light lifting, to medium lifting i think is enough. Correct me if im wrong
Doha isn't as backwards as you think. It used to be very boring, but since the U.S. military and civilian presence has grown a lot the last few years, it isn't so bad. And natural gas discoveries have made it Money Town.
