http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2005-11-21/16361893187.shtml Yao was blaming his teammates not passing him the damn ball. There are couple of other sina reports mentioning Yao has been unhappy with his new teammates, not sure how true those sources are.
IF this is true, I can't tell you how much I love it! Anytime Yao acts like Shaq, I'm happy... show that fire big fella!
Well he definitely has a point. In last nights game there were countless possessions where our guards either got their entry pass deflected/stolen or didn't even attempt to get him the ball while he was open. At least Wesley makes an effort to look for Yao. DA just waits with the ball on the perimeter until Yao comes out to set a pick and open him up for the 20ft brick
Ok, it's all direct in quote from Yao in that article, so it has to be valid. Now, it's time for our big fellow to back up the talk, you can't go 3/15 and complain your teammates dont pass the ball. Show them why they should pass the ball to you.
Here's my very bad translation of what Yao said: I don't know why in the second half they don't pass me the ball. I know the fact that I shot less in the second half have something to do with the defensive adjustments made by the other team. However, the main point is, whenever I get good position, I'm not getting support from the outside players. We can pass me the ball and then have me pass it back out. If they swarm me, I will pass it back out, if they don't I will attack.
I think that article on sina.com quote Yao after spurs game, not yesterday's one. Yes, he really sucks yesterday.
I think yao's comments refers to the second half of the spurs game, where he had 0 touches in the 3rd and only 1 touch in the 4th. I think it was more to do with VG's game plan of letting T-Mac taking over rather than his teammates not passing him the potatoe. On a side note, who thinks DWesley has an uncanning resemblence of Usher!? Or is it the other way around!
I think you're right. Article also said Yao was really pissed at losing and partially pissed at not getting the ball. He was so mad that he threw his jersey on the ground.
I know the interview was done after the Spurs game. I have read it the other day already. I also noticed in the detroit and indy game, Yao got a lot more touches, of course Tmac wasnt playing but still may be to the effect he complained. He needs to back it up though. 9 to's in the Det game and sucking bad in the Indy game. Yao needs to put the burden on his shoulder not just whining about lack of touches. Get it done like a max player. There is no nice guy in the league, I hope he gets it. We will see.
i think the problem is that we haven't had any players that and comfortably get the ball to Yao down low. Granted he's been inconsistent as usual, but it looks like the same old story: Yao posts up and gets into position, no pass. He slides around to where the ball is moving, no pass.
THis is the most reciculous thing I've ever read. 98% of the possesions went THROUGH Yao in the last couple of games. Especially in the last game.
