[sina]Roekets after game party with pictures Somebody traslated the article on another bbs, I copied it here. http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2005-03-04/14251429957.shtml Everybody in Houston knew that the Rockets players used to have nightly activities right after every match; and those nightly activities are usually celebration parties right after a win. People that have attended such celebration parties particularly during the recent winning streak of 8 could not tell you how crazy the Rockets players were behaving themselves there. Normally and noticeably 2 honest guys were absent from those parties.....Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. Nobody would have expected that even when the Rockets are into their losing streak, such parties still go on. After the loss to Utah Jazz last Sunday, after severe bashings/yellings from JVG, and after the players soberly reflecting what they had done wrong in front of the media, shortly afterwards almost every players, including Tracy McGrady, gathered at a bar/night club called the Social. Bob Sura, despite his back injury, showed up as well. Tracy McGrady apparently did not feel too comfortable about such occasion; he stayed pretty emotionless; with his body guard standing by him, he brushed off a few flirtations/invitations. Patrick Ewing was different from his usual self...full of smiles. Mutombo was all excited with 2 women left and right. And Bob Sura was the most popular lady-wooer....with a lot of females swarming around him. He had been seen showing up lately in those night clubs/bars recently after he was placed onto IRL, and every time he was with different female companions. Due to the presence of Tracy McGrady, the gathering became more like a social gathering rather than a crazy partying/clubbing....but then, it made someone wonder how could these guys be still so happy after losing a bitter battle just hours earlier? Maybe in JVG's own words, a win or loss matters more to a coach than the players. Bob Sura can enjoy his All Stars holidays, but JVG cannot. JVG locked himself up to study videos of the Supersonics during the All Stars vacation. While drinking his beer, Jon Barry would not think about how he should play defense in his next match; no matter how many times JVG has told Jon Barry not to take his 3-pointers during fast breaks, he would just repeatedly shoot 3-pointers in his next game when shooting opportunity arises. The players could do whatever they want, but not JVG. His car is always the first to be parked into Toyota Centre. Even though they work together, it is always 2 separate worlds: one side the players; the other side, the coach. No one can explain who should be responsible for Rockets' losses. But one thing is clear; when Bob Sura and JVG appear on the next morning, they both have black eye sockets. Pictures after Saterday's game:
http://bbs2.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=92176 Absolute proof that sina just took things out of context and stole the pics.
Wow I can't believe they actually took pictures from this site. Actually, I can't read Chinese but the pictures you posted aren't hosted through sina. What's the story on that?
I don't think their behavior is any different than 90% of NBA players. What a life!! You know life is good when on a day you get chewed out by (basically) your boss, you can still go out w/ the guys and still have plenty to celebrate about...namely, being a millionaire many times over and having fine females hanging all over you. On a side note, it's pretty cool that we have this alternative media outlet covering sides of the team that we are not normally privy to. Vertical integration of our media outlets sucks!
Sorry, I apologize. The pictures were not from Sina. That's posted on realgm bbs with the same article, I copied everything over, my mistake.
Ok, sina writer or the bastketball pioneer writer, read this Plagiarism is defined by the Honor Council document as "the act of passing off as one's own the ideas or writings of another." In the Appendix to the Honor Council pamphlet called "Acknowledging the Work of Others" (which is used by permission of Cornell University), three simple conventions are presented for when you must provide a reference: If you use someone else's ideas, you should cite the source. If the way in which you are using the source is unclear, make it clear. If you received specific help from someone in writing the paper, acknowledge Now, what's more, you even have the audacity to publish what you steal. You might've got away with it many time before in your life, but dont expect you will always get away with it. I am absolutely disgusted.
My search of realGM turned up nothing. It did, however, turn up richargh copying DeAleck's thread word for word. Completely different issue. The images are even leeched. Unless jcmoon also posted it, I suggest he take them off his server.
Here is the link in realgm. I happened to read that article in Chinese at Sina before. http://www.*******************/viewtopic.php?t=349439
Yea, but werent those from the night before the Jazz game? I remember seeing them the day after the "party night" and remember thinking it was not a game day/
sina is behind it supporting. I posted there about this article, where if first orginated. The mod there deleted it right away. My advice, dont load up the sina stock.
See this is why you guys should never post pictures or post stories about the Rockets players on the internet because of no good sh1theads like this dork who would love nothing better than to find something negative about the Bob Suras or Jon Barrys for whatever reason. Theres nothing even bad there, and its no big deal... but just look what he's trying to get at when he says"jon Barry while drinking his beer would rather not think about how he would play defense his next match'. See now you have some joker writing articles about this as if he was there. now somebody is going to have to take pictures of Yao Ming playing his video games after the Rockets lose a game. And then say 'Yao Ming would rather play video games than think about how he can grab a rebound his next match'
theres a thread here with pictures of sura, barry, deke, ewing, mcgrady. a poster sees them at a bar/club. no big deal. its common. a few other posters say they see the rockets players out here and there, bob suras a pimp, this and that. nothing extraordinary or over the top. just men living their lives like ordinary men. the thread and pics get posted over at realgm. this sina **** head writer gets a hold of it and because they don't have enough soap operas on in china or something so he sees an opportunity for a story. something so common like this becomes juicy to him. he wants dirt on players not named Yao. but theres not even any dirt here. if he was just commenting on the pictures thats one thing, but he's acting like he was there when he wasn't. thats national enquirer **** there.
choujie, the person who started this thread, says the pictures were not from Sina. They were posted on realgm with the same article and he just copied everything over. Even though this sina article is pretty much worthless IMO, we don't know how the reporter got his story. He could have looked at the pictures on the clutch BBS thread, he might have got his information from hearsay or he might have actually been there. The reporter might be responsible for writing a bad story but as far as we know, not for stealing pics.
Whoa if you read the article and the Tmac/Deke/Ewing sighting thread again, it's pretty obvious to me that this Sina "article" is just an exaggerated rehash of the Clutch thread with a negative spin. I'm 99% sure that the writer just read the thread and got all of his/her info from there. The Deke "two women" comments seems to have a similar context to the story that jgreen91 told in that thread about seeing Deke at his restaurant. And the Sura picking up a bunch of different girls was also mentioned a lot in that thread. Plus the rest of the stuff about how T-Mac and Ewing was acting can be gleaned just by looking at the pictures. "T-mac looks uncomfortable" or "Ewing smiling and having fun". I wonder how long until they do an article about the Bandwagon Houston/Washington jersey changer.
