---------------- just thought I would throw this out there for anyone who watches Los Simpson in SAP.
I watch them in SAP sometimes. It's funny when I know what they're saying in ENGLISH (CC), and hear them in Spanish (SAP). Thank you for the news. I had read about the dispute from last year's news xcharged posted.
Homero? There is no way they would do the US version without Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Julie Kavner, Dan Castellaneta, Hank Azaria, and Harry Shearer. I would rather they cancel the show than get rid of the voices that I've grown to love over the past 15 years...
No kidding, if they ever replaced the VA on the US version, just end the show, it shouldn't even be an option.
I have heard but not confirmed...is it true that the Bumble Bee man speaks English when you watch the Simpsons with SAP?
Are you kidding? They'd replace ALL of them in the US if they thought it would keep big bucks rolling in. If the network was concerned with the integrity of the show, it'd have been ended about 5 years ago.
But would they get any viewership? I doubt that anyone would continue watching the Simpsons if all of the voice actors left. The only ones that are still watching the Simpsons are the ones that grew up with them--you piss them off then bye bye ratings, bye bye sponsorships, bye bye show (which should have ended a few seasons back IMO)
Don't blame the network for bad episodes. Blame Matt Groening. I don't blame him though cause it's a cash cow. Milk it till it dies.
Sure, but that show has been Fox's anchor practically since the network debuted. They want those high advertising dollars and I'd wager they'd be more willing to gamble with a piss-poor show with a big name than a decent-but-new show. Married with Children was driven well past into the ground, as well... How many new episodes of Arrested Development are they making again? And if they haven't driven off the "hardcore" fans by now, well, they probably never will. Groening could have pulled the plug by now, I'm sure, but who knows what sort of contract he signed with Fox during the show's salad days? Who knows if Fox wouldn't just continue on without him or make a spinoff like "Moe's Tavern" or God-knows-what, so he might as well continue to profit off the show's corpse. I don't really blame him for the show's poorer quality in recent years, because a series can only be excellent for so long before it jumps the shark. But you're right, it probably should have been called off at this point anyway.
I guess I'm the only one who still finds The Simpsons funny and much better than 98% of the crap out there?
I find EVERY Simpsons' episode funny as well. My daughters and I can't help missing ONE episode per afternoon, but we catch the 5 and the 6:30 ones when we can. *PostMaster = RocketMan95 >22k posts!!!!
Actually, the show has been better since Groening has become more involved with the show again. There have been contract disputes with the cast members, and the cast members have won each time. In their last contract renewal last year, they each got their salary doubled to $250,000 per episode. The Simpsons is an extremely expensive show to produce, so paying $1.5 million for just six voice actors shows just how important that cast is to the show. Replacing one of the main voice actors in The Simpsons would be like ABC replacing Teri Hatcher on Desperate Housewives with Sally Struthers...it would be instant death.
That doesn't mean they wouldn't try it if, say, one of the voice actors died or quit. Those contract disputes just go to show that Fox will do whatever they find necessary to keep the Simpsons money coming in.
no..you arent I still find well over 90% of them to be funny...every once in a while...I see one that just makes me go...meh.. which puts them at about American Dad level...
