Let me say WOW. This movie was excellent. It was funny and scary at the same time. I was on the edge of my seat most of the movie - very thrilling. A 10/10 - easily the best movie of the year in my book. A MUST see!!!

Without giving too much away - it's man vs alien. It really made me think what I would do if something that incredible was happening.

    M. Night Shyamalan wrote and directed this movie perfectly. Great casting of Joaquin Phoenix (Gladiator), Rory Culkin (Macaulay's little brother) and Abigail Breslin (first movie). I just enjoyed this movie so much, very engulfing, the whole audience was yelling and shrieking. As usual M Night Shyalaman makes an appearance in the movie - very nice spot. I just can't say enough about this movie - go see it! :)

I thought it was top quality. This is the first movie in awhile in which I've actually cared what happens to the characters. Go see it. :)

It was pretty awesome. Lets put it this way, its 2am, I have work at 9am, and I dont wanna go to sleep, nuff said.

This movie was top notch. I admit, its a little slow, but you are SO INTO the movie, that it doesnt seem that way. Joquin Phoenix is hilarious, and would be interesting to see him in a comedy. The music/score get some major points for this movie also but M. Night Shyalaman delivers another great thriller.

I am going to see "Signs" tomorrow. Part of the movie was actually shot in my town, about a mile or two from my house. I can't wait to see it.

One of the good things is that you can't predict what's going to happen in the movie...well unless u saw one of the trailers...but other than that Id say not as good as Sixth Sense but a lot better than Unbreakable. And Phoenix is good, almost got misty eyes near the end.

First let me say I love sci-fi...my favorite genre!

I saw this yesterday morning and the moment I got back in the car I was thinking about something else. This says a lot to me based on how I rate movies. I also rate movies by my actions after the fact:

    To see it again...
Would I pay primium price? Nope
Would I pay matinee price (again)? Nope
Would I pay $1.50 at a second run theater? Nope
Would I buy it because I liked it? Nope
Would I buy it for my sci-fi collection and posterity? Yep

Anyway, just my feelings on the movie.

I predicted most of what happened at the end...parts were obvious from the very beginning, others were obvious about mid-way.

It wasn't bad (and much better than typical Summer movies of this genre), but Shyamalan really needs to try something new - not subject wise, but stylistically. Nothing wrong with it by itself, but if he continues the exact same way - slow moving, very similar camera work, over-emphasizing clues that will come together at the end, etc...then his movies only become cliché and caricatures of themselves.

I'm with you rimmy. Shyamalan seems to be trying to make sixth sense II, which I think is a shame, since he is such an intresting writer. The problem I had with the film - and let me say it is minor stuff - is that in order for the suprise ending to work we have to be conviced not only that gibson's character has lost his faith but also that he has regained his faith in the end and that just isn't possible putting most of the motivation for how he lost faith in backstory and dialogue. We are told at every turn how he has lost his faith instead of shown convincing evidence. I mean I got the impression that the other characters themselves didn't even believe he had lost his faith. At any rate, it is hard to fault a movie this interesting and funny and good. My only gripe is the ending. Don't invest so much in these suprise ending, let the characters you create lead us somewhere! grrrrrrrrrr

Whatever you do, DO NOT see the new Dana Carvey movie. I saw it, hoping to catch of glimpse of the SNL-esque Carvey. Boy was I wrong. Worst $6.50 I ever spent.

Has anyone noticed how ticket prices at AMC are getting higher and higher ever few months? Maybe the girl at the counter ripped me off but I paid 6 bucks for a student ticket! Still cheaper than regular admission but I remember when it was 4.50!!!

The crop circles, are they in anyway related to the circles that were proven to be fraudulent a few years back?

Loved it! M. Knight Shyamalan reminds me of a young Steven Spielberg. All three of his movies at face value look like a ghost movie, a comic book hero movie, and an alien movie. But, unlike typical big, blockbusters they are so much more thoughtful and interesting. I don't think he's trying to make the same movie over and over. I just think he has his own style like any director. I mean, can you really tell me that a lot of Martin Scorsese's movies aren't similar? Maybe Shyamalan will eventually expand and try something a little different someday, but I'd be happy if he continued down the same path he's on.
