I opened my Microsoft Word today and noticed the text is sideways now. Does anyone have any suggestion for what to do here? I haven't seen this before. A sample file is below. Thanks in advanced.

The "Text Direction" choice is not a highlighted option in the menu. I think "text direction" is to change the orientation of text in a text box. However, it seems like my entire page is sideways, and not just a text box. Even the icons for text justification are sideways. This is one of the weirdest problems I've encountered on Microsoft Word. In any case, thanks for the help.

    What version of Word?

Try something like this (do it at your own risk! :D):

Shut down Word. Then try finding your normal.dot file on your hard drive and renaming it to something like normal.bak (you could delete it, too, but just rename it for now).

    Then start Word back up.

There is no Word for any particular Windows OS. There's a normal.dot file located where Word is installed. Find it and rename it to something else. It should be located in something like a Templates folder where you have Word installed.

Use the search function under the Windows start menu to find normal.dot.
