Wow that may be the most impressive dunk I've ever seen outside of a game situation. In game dunks are definitely better, but this is awesome.

at first.....I asked myself "when the hell did Joakim Noah get dealt to the Celtics?" and then I remembered that sometimes the Bulls are just ghey.
I know a lot of people will disagree with this but... Spoiler dunking, for the most part, has jumped the shark.
Dunk contests have def. fallen off - I pray to god that the in-game dunk will never go out of vogue. Nothing better than seeing someone posterized TMac on Bradley style. Mind you, there aren't a lot Shawn Kemp's, or young Vince Carter's around these days...guys just serving it up to fools on the regular.
That's actually a bad angle... check this one out: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...uy-Dupuy-s-ridiculous-new-dunk?urn=nba,187926
Contest dunks, yes. Only so much you can do in less than 2 seconds. Though oeople still watch Home Run Derby in baseball and that hasnt changed in 50 years. In-game dunks are like home runs in baseball or hard hits in football, fun moments in the game no matter what they look like.
In and of itself it's a great dunk, but in terms of what I've seen from Team Flight Brothers, and Guy Dupuy in particular, this doesn't seem that spectacular. Here's some stuff from Dupuy that is just as impressive, in my opinion... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HjY-edyQH2c&hl=en&fs=1&start=44"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HjY-edyQH2c&hl=en&fs=1&start=44" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Watch closely...he puts his entire forearm in the rim. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/673NlDNQcBE&hl=en&fs=1&start=113"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/673NlDNQcBE&hl=en&fs=1&start=113" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/a8qDhkb55Gk&hl=en&fs=1&start=52"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/a8qDhkb55Gk&hl=en&fs=1&start=52" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object> On this last one, he's trying to go around the back AND between the legs off 1 foot. He doesn't get it, but when he does...oh my. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vcoZkOAytmU&hl=en&fs=1&start=35"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vcoZkOAytmU&hl=en&fs=1&start=35" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Dunk contest has been horrible the last couple of seasons. Its not even about competitive spirits or creative dunks anymore. Its not the same like you know the Jordan's free throw line dunk or Wilkins windmill, but more like D.Howard wearing a cape and a costume and just dunking. I bet next year if Lebron enters, he is going to do something retared like D.Howard did. But in-game dunks will always be great. Because it will catch you offguard and ignites the crowd. I actually love in game dunks way more and in game dunks will never ever go out of style.
Is that really a new dunk? They all seem the same to me. I see the lob dunk all the time, and I see the jump over someone dunk all the time. Not much creativity in just combining the two, but I guess the athleticism needed to pull it off is impressive.
Well yeah. I mean, I've seen a 7-footer, and I've seen somebody dunk, but for some reason somebody dunking over a 7-footer was impressive when I saw Vince do it. Go figure.
BTW, does anybody else think James White's between the legs dunk from the free throw line is more impressive than this one?
Vince Carter still did the better between the legs. Dupuy's dunk looks great but misleading when the guy stading there is under 6 feet based on debuy's own height of 6-3. Look at the VC clip, T-Mac gets out the frame so you really can't get a good measure of the height but Carter easily cleared 6 feet on that dunk and without having to stretch his leg like Dupuy does at the end. Carter was far more fluid and effortless so he is better in my opinion. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bmnq2ITh914&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bmnq2ITh914&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
