I am sick and tired of hearing people question Mo Taylor's work ethic and ability to motivate himself. For you naysayers only, ask yourselves the following questions- 1. Mo Taylor worked on his skills and became a NBA starter- do you think that is easy? Is all of his ability God-given? 2. Have you ever worked for a horrible corporation in which the upper management does not care about profits or success? How would that affect the workers of that business, and how did Donald Sterling's complete mismanagement of the Clippers affect guys like Mo Taylor? 3. Do you have more basketball smarts than Rudy T and CD, who happen to love Mo Taylor as a basketball player? Do you think Rocket's management would fawn over a lazy player? 4. Mo Taylor is only 23 years old and still learning. Hell, he is the same age that we were when we just left college. Is it fair to affix character labels to such a young man when he has not been given the chance to improve himself? There are many more questions I could ask, but I just wanted to tell you Mo bashers, who have not even given this guy the chance to show his stuff in a happy situation- <marquee><font size=10 font color="red">YOU SUCK!!</font></marquee></font> ------------------ What a slam dunk!!
Oh yeaH!?!? Well, I am sick and tire of being sick and tire. ------------------ "...Do you hear 'em? They're everywhere!!! AAAHHH!!!" That's what the other teams will be saying after being shellshocked by Steve Francis and Co.
Right on TB3!! I don't question his ability, but I don't want to expect an all-star starter selection to come his way either. Not that he can't do it, I just don't want to get disappointed if he achieves less than the spectacular which he IS capable of showing. You forgot to say something about those nay-sayers' mommas ------------------ Watch...the Wizard is gonna work magic this year!
Be nice TB3! They will all come to appreciate what Mo brings to the table once the season gets in gear!!!! I think we will not only see a great low post scorer, but a better rebounder and defender too. Give the kid some time. He will make us proud! GO MO! ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
To further illustrate how sick and tired I am, I will post one more time here to move this discussion back to the top, only to surely drift down to oblivion until... I post again here.... and again.... ------------------ What a slam dunk!!
People don't just gain a reputation for the hell of it .. things have to happened but when it comes to players that finally get out from the Clipps organization (if u can call it that) people seem to give those players a second chance regardless of their history, after all we are talking about the Clippers !! but as always there are going to be people that will be critical of others regardless of the circumstances, I don't know if that is what gets them off or what but they are always there ready and willing to criticize on a drop of a penny ! ------------------ Life moves pretty fast, If you don't stop and look once in a while you might miss it!! ... Since you moved it up, let me try to help a little. I talked to a person on another board that knew Mo from High School and College and said he has never achived what his talent should allow. He also said he didn't need to in high school and in college he had a coach that was not a motivator. Well how much motivation can you get with the Clippers? I think he will be the best he has every been and to somes surprise it has nothing to do with money. He will be motivated by not only Rudy but also by the peer group that he will be playing with. If he doesn't become a new member of our group for a long time at the end of this year I will be surprised. Remember the Key word. "CHEMISTRY" It starts with Rudy and Francis keep it going ------------------
Doesn't this belong in the "Another useless thread" thread? I mean alot of us know he is a hard worker and just by the way he takes it out on himself for missing jumpers at trainning camp. That just proves me is going to do what ever it takes to make himself the best of his ability! Don't even listen to people who are sayin that Mo isn't a worker cause they know nuttin!!!!! ------------------ Miggidy Markell says: 1. Eastcoast is da sh*t 2. Rockets rule 3. Hip/Hop is dope 4. 1) Charles Jones, Tyrone Nesby, Keith Closs, and Troy Hudson have also worked on their skills and become NBA starters. Big friggin deal. 2) Have you ever been paid millions of dollars to play basketball? If you were paid millions to play basketball would you slack off, become lazy, and generally act like a childish brat? 3) Is that the same Rudy T and CD that fawned over Charles Barkley, the laziest player in the history of basketball? The same guys who gave Cato a multi-million dollar deal after a pre-season game knowing that he had a very poor work ethic? 4) Mo Taylor is very young and very talented but stupid is as stupid does. Just because Mo is a Rocket now doesn't mean he's not the same person/player he's been in the past. Personally I hope he plays great and helps the Rockets reach the playoffs but you earn respect by doing and he didn't earn a reputation as a slacker on accident. Hopefully Mo finds his "happy place" and earns a new reputation. ------------------ "Somebody DO something out there." -Bill Walton
And what did the "laziest player in the history of basketball" do for the team, helped beat a team the Rocks had never beaten in the playoffs before. Another thing, you are comparing Taylor to Barkley? What are you on and can I have some? Barkley an MVP player, one of the 50 greatest players of all time (yeah so was Quitten, but we'll let it slide), double digit career rebounder, and scorer, to Taylor, a still relatively un-proven 23 year old? While you're at it can you do a comparison between say, Collier and Hakeem, I mean they're both centres right? That seems to be the only common characteristic between Taylor and Barkley at this stage of their careers. ------------------ "He fouled me every single time I was over the rim ... I'm going to lift weights tomorrow and get my legs stronger so next time I play him I'll put it on his head five times." - Steve Franchise
Keith Closs and NBA starter? He's not even the starter on the freakin Clippers, Olowakandi is. ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
Chuck04- The question was not a comparison of Mo Taylor and Barkley but rather "Do you think Rocket's management would fawn over a lazy player?" Charles Barkley was fat, lazy, and the worst defensive player in the league for most of his career. Great thing you pointed out about Barkley. The Rockets were able to beat Seattle because of Barkley yet the Rockets could no longer beat Utah because of Barkley. ------------------ "Somebody DO something out there." -Bill Walton
You are just trying to boost your post count, aren't you TB3? I agree with your position on the Mo Taylor controversy. Based on Clutch's reports, he wants to improve his rebounding and shows dedication. He has this whole season to prove it. If he has a breakthrough season, he will be rewarded with another contract. ------------------
In defense of Charles, he may have been lazy, but he was a damn fine rebounder. We lost the series to Utah because of their usual dirty play. Those Delta Center refs sure didn't help much either. I'm relieved that the Jazz will probably not see a Finals appearance for a long time to come. They might end up with a good regular season record, but they will not be triumphant in the crux of the playoffs. Good riddance to the Jazzholes. ------------------
