JVG is out of his mind these days. He benched his two star guards for two games for jokely injuries, let his overworked veteran player (JJ) played huge minutes, then criticized his star center's character on newspaper right before playoff. Is he out his mind? Actually I think he is deeply hurt now. JVG is an egomaniac and highly competitive guy. His younger brother also a competitive guy (he is a pro coach, what do you expect). I can imagine JVG grew up with a big sibling rivalry. Last year, he took over a wining team with two allstar starters. Now he is on the verge of sweeping out of playoff in the first round. His younger but better looking brother, took over a miami team which was winless weeks into the regular season. But now miami is enjoying playoff home court advantage. JVG will not only lose face on national media, he will be also teased on family Christmas dinner table. How can he be sane these days?
He rested theme for the play-offs. no wtf is this about? JVG wasnt coaching last year. Are you gay? Are you his cousin? How can you be dumb enough to take the time out and write this peice of crap, what have you been smoking?
While I agree with all of the replies above, I just wanted to add that Jeff Van Gundy is the younger brother and not Stan. Stan Van Gundy (the coach of the Miami Heat) is older.
LMAO!!! Puuuulllease! Lanqiu......Take a look at the winning column.... Miami is what....2 games over .500, and is in the EAST!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, SVG did a great job with his excellent group of players. But come on, this entire thread you have created is blasphemy. And to think I am slacking off of my work right now for this....
This is false. JVG did NOT bench Mobley and Francis these last two games. The decision for them not to play was made between Keith Jones(the trainer), Mobley and Francis. If your two guys say they are unable to play and the trainer agrees with them, theres nothing the coach can do.
Maybe this means JVG won't hesititate to offer Miami's Rafer Alston some MLE $ to be our backup PG in 2004-05. Then again...probably not.
