This article is pretty long, so I'll single out the ones that include the Rockets:

    Western Conference Playoff Predictions:

    Ian Thomson:

    FIRST ROUND
    Mavs over Kings
    Suns over Lakers
    Spurs over Clippers
    Rockets over Jazz
    CONF. SEMIFINALS
    Mavs over Rockets
    Suns over Spurs
    CONF. FINALS
    Suns over Mavs

    Chris Mannix
    FIRST ROUND
    Mavs over Rockets
    Spurs over Lakers
    Clippers over Jazz
    Lakers over Nuggets
    CONF. SEMIFINALS
    Mavs over Lakers
    Spurs over Clippers
    CONF. FINALS
    Spurs over Mavs

    Marty Burns
    FIRST ROUND
    Spurs over Lakers
    Mavs over Nuggets
    Suns over Clippers
    Rockets over Jazz
    CONF. SEMIFINALS
    Spurs over Rockets
    Mavs over Suns
    CONF. FINALS
    Spurs over Mavs

    Three Surprises this season:

    Ian Thomson
    1. Jerry Sloan. His Jazz earn their first divisional title in seven years, and he wins his first coach of the year award in 19.

    2. Tracy McGrady. After nine years of back problems and postseason drought, he finally wins a playoff series.

    3. Vince Carter. En route to a new contract he leads Nets deep into playoffs.

    Marty Burns:

    1. The Bobcats. Go ahead and laugh. With Raymond Felton playing the role of this year's Chris Paul, these hard-working 'Cats will make a playoff run in the East.

    2. Steve Novak. The 6-10 Rockets rookie, a second-round draft pick from Marquette, will make a name for himself as one of the NBA's best pure shooters.

    3. Isiah Thomas. Mock him for all his failures, but he has veteran NBA talent to work with in New York. It should be enough to get the Knicks to 35-40 wins

That's all that the experts predict about the Rockets

T-Mac has had "nine years of back problem"?

Is the expert just trying to be sarcastic?

No way - NO FRICKING WAY - do we lose to Dallas again in the first round.

I dont even wanna think about the consequences should this happen again - which it won't.

I seriously doubt that we will loose to Spurs this season

    Yao = TD
    Battier will lock down Manu
Head will at least have the same pace with TP
    Tmac will kill Finley
Snyder will be too powerful for brent barry

Mutombo will take down Butler and Elson with his own 2 hands
Novak will shoot more accurate 3s than Horry
Alston will pass way better than Udrih

We have other secret weapons also

Mark my words: we will beat Spurs 4-2

If Yao is our go to guy, if our offense runs through him, teams will dread playing us. If we click (and by all accounts and purposes we already have) then the Spurs should fear us now. We have way too many weapons and are younger than them. The Mavs are my biggest concern, as they can be explosive and Dirk is a really tough matchup for us. But Yao is an impossible matchup for them. Then again, they do have the second best center in the league in Erick Dampier. :D I hope we play Dallas in the playoffs. Dallas is our new Utah.

Nine years of back problems and postseason drought.

    That is a true statement.

Mavs over Rockets first round? So Mannix is saying that the Rockets will be 6-8th seed? No.

well i'm sure we get to the 5th seed at least, and it looks like if we do , we'll be facing the nugz or jazz so those games this season will be very important.

Mannix doesn't even have the Suns in the playoffs. I guess he's banking on Nash, Amare, Marion, and Diaw going down for extended stretches.

I'm sick of the "so-called experts" and their ridiculous picks of Suns, Mavs, Spurs...but you time will tell if they are right. It's up to the Rocks to get out of the gate like a thoroughbred and make the league take notice.

Their first 20 games are against some of the elite teams and if they can just take care of home...they'll be fine because we know they are a good road team. They just have to have the home court advantage this year...which at present time, it's sad because we only have (1) sellout for the opener. What happpened to the fickle fans...is this team not as good on paper as anything else throughout the leage?

The Mavs do not want to meet this Rockets team in the playoffs. If the wheels stay on (no serious injuries) the Rockets will be rolling downhill come playoffs. Best stay clear or get run over.
