These polls really go to show how much the mental part of the game counts for. I believe McGrady is the most physically gifted wing player to ever play the game. Certainly, he is in the top 5.

It's a shame that he is not cementing a legacy as he leaves the prime of his career. Instead, he has soured fans (and management?) in 3 cities in 10 years. And what is worse is that after having felt this way to some degree ever since he arrived in Houston the guy is so freaking talented that he could almost make me a believer again with just one game.

I think Carter is more athletic, but he is was just hurt a lot, but at least he took his team to EC finals.

I think this depends on how you look at it.

Numbers-wise there is no way you could sanely say TMAc gets the "least," out of his talent. To me that is what this poll is asking.

Now, if it was a poll about most talented player to never advance in the playoffs, well that is pretty obvious. If that is what is meant by least, then so be it. But why would people like Darius Miles and Darko be in it?

Year I'm surprised T Mac didn't make the top of the list.

T Mac does not play to his fullest potential. If he did than he would have been better than Kobe his entire career and that is saying a lot! This I consider to be a Fact!

I don't get why people say this. In the playoffs, what more could we of asked of him??? His team is what broke down in the playoffs. In both the Utah and Mavericks series he played outstanding, but players that did well in the regular season failed to show up. Its not his fault at all.

If the poll title is "Who gets the least out of the most talent and get more criticism?" ,then T-MAC will be the top.

Darius Miles is very talented but the dude is just a flat out alcoholic that doesn't seem to care too much about basketball.

I agree guys like Darko, Curry, and Swift shouldn't even be on there.

I should have been more clear. By "physically gifted" I meant more than pure athleticism. I was also speaking of things like wingspan, ball control and court vision. Tmac, in my opinion, was always overrated when it came to his leaping ability and even his first step although he has both of those gifts he certainly does not jump like Vince or MJ and his first step was never as good as MJ's or Wade's. So Tmac has a pure explosive athleticism just a notch below the greatest athletes in the game AND he has large, quick hands, freakishly long arms, amazing body control, insane court vision and a smoothness to his movement that is really beyond description. I think all of those gifts combined make him a physical specimen that the game has never seen.

There is a reason why McGrady is a max player and Hayes is earing his minimum. We need him to take over when the game is on the line AKA do NOT choke and/or take fade away jumpers in the 4th Q of game 7.

Raptors fans are not sour about McGrady. They may wish he had of stayed, but they can't blame him for taking the opportunity. He played great ball while he was there, and it was only for 3 seasons, one of which was his rookie season, and he was exciting to watch.

I gave the guy a pass for his whole career until not too long ago. His performance vs. Dallas in his first season in Houston was simply amazing.

You can look at last season's loss to the Jazz in the first round and his stats are amazing. The problem is that we needed five minutes of aggressive play from him in the last 5 minutes of game 7 and he couldn't deliver. Nobody ask him to be Jordan. All we wanted was for our 6'8" All-World SG to take the ball to the rim. That's it. A layup, some free throws or even some no calls but at least show us that you will leave it all out of the floor.

Crying at the press conference and saying "I'm sorry" is not what he gets paid the big bucks for and it isn't what I expect from a guy who routinely talks about "imposing his will" or having the defense "at his mercy."

Stats tell part of the story but they don't tell it all.

I mean T-Mac doesn't use the full potential of his talent, but come on 30/7/7 in the playoffs and like 25/6/5 in the regular season isn't getting the LEAST out of it.

He can be doing much better numbers but he's not doing the least he can.

he may not do it during the reg. season (where he does coast at times), but u cannot tell me he does not try 110% in the playoffs. dude puts his heart out during the playoffs.

a statline in the playoffs of 29, 7, 7 is not something u can do without effort (b/c you're facing the best teams, toughest defenses...).

he just has to get over that hurdle and win in the playoffs. simple as that. i think tmac has been tremendous in the playoffs. but somehow, he has to elevate the play of his teammates EVEN MORE, and you know how hard it is with rafer, battier, and hayes sucking out there.

It's a toss up between T-Mac and Vince Carter. Both have the God-given talent and ability to be the best player on the floor at any given time but both seem to disappear in the 4th quarter. It must be a family thing.

4%? 4% is low. If 242 players replied to the poll, that's 9 or 10 guys that said McGrady. By contrast, 40 to 42 guys named Kwame Brown. And the players aren't immune from the playoff shut-out bias; the 10 guys voting for TMac are likely responding to some extent to his first-round losses, wondering how a guy who regularly schools them on the court can be defeated in the first round.
