    Seriously crazy. If the Rockets now manage to win the NBA championship.... I'm thinking 3 covers in the span of 9 months. That'd be pretty awesome.

    Absolutely. My Laker friends here in LA were already talking about snatching Yao away from Rox the way they got Shaq. I hope Les is smart enough to not let that happen.

    Now It's up to Ming to live it up on the court. He is absolutely the darling of public right now, but he will be forgotten as quickly as hw he was lifted up there. Super Star status is on the line Ming for RIGHT NOW.

    it's not a suprise that yao has been on the cover of SI two times in a nba season. after all, he was the #1 pick from CHINA and not many americans have seen him play. because of the above reason, it was great that SI put him on the cover for the first time to introduce him to the americans. he appeared on the 2nd time because of his great play and likeable personality.

    if the rockets continues to improve and makes the playoff, he'll be on the cover again.

    btw, i can't wait for my issue to come.

    I can't believe Yao's pressure is getting bigger and bigger. At this rate I don't care how great a player you are you will never live up to the hype if they keep doing this to Yao. I hope the medias give yao some time off and stop making him so big. He's only a rookie damn it. If they can lift his image up now they can demolish him later.

    He's actually been on the cover THREE times if you count the NFL playoff issue where he was at the top.
