I can't really think of anyone else they could put on there, but who knows. The Rockets rarely ever get the kind of respect they should.

yeah, im hoping it would happen, but like rodney dangerfield used to say, "No Respect...I get no respect at all..."

wasn't there some sort of controversy with SI back in 94 when we won the title? and then they screwed up some pictures calling labeling a picture of robert horry as otis thorpe?

i was in 5th grade so its hard for me to remember..

They should be on the cover, but something tells me we'll see Kobe and a story about how determined he is to get his team back to the finals and make up for last year's drubbing. SI knows who sells magazines.

Of course, the Chinese edition is a different story. :D

The Spurs won it the year before and didn't get the cover, though.

Come on!! This is "freak'n Houston" you're talking about! SI has to sell magazines, so Houston will never be on the front cover of a SI regular edition.

    Now Yao's a different story! :D

Recenct Houston players on SI covers: UH's David Klingler (91), Olajuwon (93), Olajuwon (94 Champs Issue), Drexler (95), Randy Johnson (98), Pippen (99), David Carr (02), Yao (02), Yao (03), Roger Clemens (04) and Lidge/Posednik (05). We've had an ok share, but it's time for the three year drought to end.

I don't want SI jinxing us. Let someone else have the cover. I'd rather we be on there in June when we're hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy. :D

I dont think so. If he had went to the Lakers, I think so. But not Houston. The Rockets arent a "Sexy" enough team for SI.

what respect have we deserved in the last 10 years? we deserve nothing.

now if you're talking about the championship years, then yes, we were shortchanged.

Didn't the 1994-95 SI NBA Preview Issue have the headline "Will the Knicks Repeat?"? I seriously doubt that SI will put the Rockets on the cover, especially with the Lakers and Celtics being good again.
