Please lock if it is old, irrational, or simply dumb.

Houston would do a Tracy McGrady-for-Bosh/Calderon deal tomorrow and might even be willing to sweeten the deal with Aaron Brooks. But sources insist that over the last few months the Raptors have gone from probable sellers to buyers on the trade market. Toronto has been looking for help at shooting guard and has been asking around about some bruising front-line help to back up finesse big men Bosh and Andrea Bargnani. As for Bosh, GM Bryan Colangelo's message hasn't changed: Bosh is not available.

so i am guessing they want to get Tmac and Aaron for bosh and Calderon??
personally, i find this to be simply impossible. Morey wouldn't trade brooks for anything.

    1. Bosh isn't going anywhere til at the earliest, the offseason, and that may not be likely.
    2. Houston would do this deal but why would Toronto want McGrady back?
    3. See point 2: Toronto likely wouldn't want McGrady.
    4. See point 1.

    No.

If we were guarnteed Bosh would resign with us, then yes, do it. But we would lose Brooks and get nothing back next season.

he would trade anyone not named yao. brooks is an undersized shooting pg. how many of those cant you not find anywhere?

im sure dm would do this as long as bosh would immediately sign an extension or promise to do so.

i also believe that raptors would likely hold on to bosh and would go over the luxury task and offer him a max or near max deal. they just really need a good sg that can attack the basket. belinilli isnt doing it for them. probably a rudy fernandez or manu ginobili. a trade with philly for iggy/dalembert might do wonders for them. unfortunately they dont have a 20million dollars worth of expiring contracts to make it work. but a marcus camby/ricky davis just might.

I rather sweeten the deal with lowry or scola. not brooks. i would say Ariza but they might take that as an insult and take the deal off that table.

i would love this deal especially if aaron is involved. calderon is basically a smarter version of brooks although not quite as athletic.

I love this deal. I'm still not sure how well AB fits when Yao comes back. As good of a season as Brooks is having he still isn't shooting all that well at 42%. Calderon to me is a very good fit. He's a good passer and a great shooter from behind the arc and then of course we are getting Bosh.

A smarter version of Brooks, but less athletic ?

Aaron has been on his way to somewhere between star and possibly superstar level since he led the pac 10 in scoring.

He is a pure scorer at heart, but has the skills to be a perrenial all star at the point.

I see him as a hybrid like Wade, etc who albeit smaller transcends one position and is both scorer and distributor.

    In short ....ALMOST untouchable.

I agree with this. We need someone who can run the point with good court vision and with passing skills which can distribute the offense and make the other players happy and involved. Brooks is essentially one dimensional and once he is roughed up by opponents his offense suffers.

When Yao comes back we will have Brooks, again, unable to feed the post thus allowing opponents to effectively front Yao. CBud is a much better post entry passer than the Rockets' PG, there is something very wrong with that.
