    4. Houston Rockets

    Houston Rockets (37-25)
Victories over the Mavs, Sonics, Suns and Kings (the last three on the road) have Jeff Van Gundy pushing his brother Stan in this week's Rankings. Plus, Bob Sura has returned from his back injury

That # 6 ESPN ranking is bogus--I think this ranking, and the USA Today ranking is more accurate .

That's as high as the Rox have been since the first week of 95 when they came off their first title and started the season awesome.

What happened to the Fans Against Rocket Trades? They must've dissolved into the civilian populace.

its nice to be ranked #4 and shown some respect but lets hope the rockets continue to play well and conitnue to stay in the top 8 of teams. consistency is what i am looking for. it looks like this team is coming around to be that though which is all :) to me

That's the highest I can ever remember seeing any site rate them. The true, accurate ranking is just to the left of this post, though.:)

I actually rank the Rockets #5 behind Phoenix, San Antonio, Miami, and Detroit. In fact, they are tied for 5th with Seattle.

If Houston can beat San Antonio on the road (or at least make it a very close game), and ditto with Miami, then they have really arrived.

Phoenix has played well all year and one lose doesn't knock it below Houston. Detroit - after what they did to the lakers, i still have to respect the champs - we all know about underestimating the heart of a champion....

Houston looks good, but let's see if it's just a streak or if they will sustain it to the end of the season.

The Power Rankings at CBS Sportsline has the Rockets moved up from 7th to 5th:

"If the Rockets can continue their impressive play, it's not far-fetched for them to be thinking title contention"

    Woo hoo!

Power rankings are so stupid. I guess they're a quick way for the non-avid fan to see what every team did during the weak. Rockets are playing well, real well, so they move up. Amazing.

All these power rankings are great news. Now we have a shot at a BCS Bowl game.

I knew that the Wesley deal would be the the sleeper deal. Most people like the Barry deal but were suspect on the Wesley deal. We go from having no PG to having 3 solid PGs (Wesley, Sura and James) not bad!
