Assuming he is healthy that would be awesome. Great fit for replacing Brantley next year.

If he agree to the deal, does that mean 1st year of the contract is 2022? I’m assuming it is.

What's his deal, why hasn't he signed until now?

Question is how healthy he is for this season. Has he swung a bat this year?

Surely Houston wouldn’t have offered him $30M without seeing him swing.

15 this year, 15 next year. This might be a move for next year with hope he can play this year.

And that $15m for this season is probably pro-rated.

Yes but even $15M wouldn’t have been offered without watching him swing.

This doesn't solve the center field problem, if we think Chas is going to be a problem. We have enough DH's, especially if Vazquez might get some DH at bats with a 3rd catcher.

I don’t know? Maybe it’s a 30 million one year deal divided into two seasons.
It’s an offer he can’t refuse, Astros have money to spend and if he can play this year ifs a complete win

Only reason he'd refuse is if he's confident he would make more money as a regular free agent this coming Winter. But this is his only chance to play in the 2022 playoffs, which would mean one less chance at a ring. Plus, he can use 2023 to make his case for FA the year after in a stacked lineup.

Makes a lot of sense if you actually bench Yuli.....

    Altuve 2B
    Pena SS
    Alvarez DH/LF
    Bregman 3B
    Tucker RF
    Mancini 1B
    Conforto DH/LF
    Vazquez C
    McCormick CF

Exactly. Damn I hope this gets done. I don’t want to see Dubon, Meyers, or McCormick in the playoffs. Isn’t this the anniversary of the JV trade? May lightning strike twice!

would be a perfect fit for the Astros’ needs assuming he’s healthy.

McCormick has literally played at a 3.5-4 WAR pace since being called up. What more does he need to do to satisfy you people?
