A nice article about Adam Morrison. Even though I'm not a big fan of his, I think the up and downs he's experienced is something that is very relatable and inspiring. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/sam_amick/11/22/adam.morrison/index.html
I'm glad he's found his love for the game again and is doing well overseas right now. I don't think any of that is going to translate to the NBA, though.
I created a previous thread on his success in Europe. It's so great to see him find that passion again. The NBA just didn't work out for him.
It's inspiring because of what exactly??.... Draft busts happen yearly, and I don't see them as being inspirational.... Why this garbage azz player, all of a sudden....
im actually really happy for the guy. he can play just needs to put it all together. maybe he'll get all his confidence back overseas and make a second run at the nba, and hopefully do it right this time.
Maybe because you can't relate. Guessing the article was too long for you, but yes he was a bust and unlike most he's trying to make it right. Inspiration to those who might have lost their dream or passion for whatever reason and found a way to regain it.
Yawn. But good for him. And for the record, J.J. Redick won the "Which one of these two will sign a second NBA contract?" award. Redick, FTW! Sorry, stache.
I tried to read that. I really did. But after the first page I couldn't go on. It did, however, remind me to go watch his "Yeah-I-cried-so-what" promo for NBA Live 2007.
You were a top 10 draft pick for an NBA franchise??..... Inspirational is a strong word that gets thrown around too much.... He aint nowhere near inspirational... There are thousands of athletes that lose their love of the game and do what he's done.... Now if he makes it back to the NBA and is a stud, then that's inspirational.... His azz aint even made it back yet...
Never claimed to be. Inspiration doesn't only come in the form of playing basketball or being in the NBA. As far as I'm concerned, if he never picked up a ball and chose to work at a homeless shelter and that was his passion then I'd be happy for the guy. "His azz" surely isn't concerned with what you think or what you consider to be inspiring. Look at it from a life perspective not a basketball one.
Hard to do when the damn article is in relation to basketball.... Like I said, words like inspiration, idols, and role models get thrown around too much... A.Morrison's article involves none of the above mentioned... It's good he found it in himself to give it another shot... But it aint inspirational at all..Happens all the damn time...
Falling on your face in front of millions of people and then deciding to dust yourself off and get back up isn't inspirational at all? The guy could have just continued to hide away in shame but is trying to play again. Good for him.
Anthony Parker never got so much love after the NBA dropped him, then going to Europe and winning two Euroleague MVPs in a row, learning to live with his wife amongst bombings in Tel Aviv (circa 2003-05, then coming back to the NBA to be one of the best 3pt shooters. That's inspirational.
