I know we have about 70 something games left........ I know we have some parts missing.......... I know we play 3 quarters of basketball......... I know we CAN be great................ ...................but will we? I know its early in the season but honestly guys I see some troubling signs with our rocks........I could be wrong but every bbs'er on this board knows what I'm talkin about....we get giddy and our rocks get giddy up I'm sayin all that to say this...........we all agree we have a great team for the most part........alot of good pieces...not the best but definately good enough to win or do something special......all without novak, billy, bonzi, and sura......... but something still bothers me.........We are still the same old rockets that do the same old things..........good team that never takes the next step We have shown in our first week and a half of the season that we are definately the scariest team in the league if we finally wake the sleeping giant and play for 4 quarters........you don't get a 20 point lead on almost every opponent without being special...especailly against the likes of the mavs, spurs, and heat.......really the spurs becuz they showed us the other night what a championship team plays like....night in and night out...PERIOD...which brings me to my point................ I feel the next few games against the bulls and the pistons are gonna tell us all we need to know about the season we can expect from our rockets and save us bbs'ers alot of heartache like almost every other season when we start to believe again...... I feel that gettin beat by the spurs was actually the best thing that could happen to our young phenom rocks.....becuz they were starting to roll and I feel like they where gonna start becoming complacent becuz we actually pulled out some wins that should have been better wins had we played 4 full quarters.....I feel like the rocks were already starting to coast........then comes a real gutcheck on tuesday night to put them back in there place..... So where do we go from here....we don't need to type all day what the problems are, we all know them.....frontin yao, tmacs offense, bonzi, novak, billy, padgett...blah, blah, blah.......guess what every team in the league goes thru this and the great ONES find ways to win regardless, like our friendly I-10 rival spurs.....where are we gonna go guys? A real champion contender will take tuesday nights lost to heart and want to come out and not taste that horrible embarrasing taste again......a mediocre pretender will still give us quotes on "playin for 4 quarters is what we have to do"....you know what you have to do so rocks I ask you to........... SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tell our players that the right time to celebrate is after the game is done. NOT after 2nd quarter, even you just shot a buzzer beater 3 points. NOT after 3rd quarter and definitely not after 1st. Tell this to TMAC. And one more thing, for playoffs, we don't celebrate after getting a lead 2-0 or 3-0. The right time to celebrate is when the trophy is handed down by the comm. Tell this to TMAC.
Yeah i want to see a great bounceback game from what happened on tuesday and i think we will perform good, but i don't feel that this is going to pretty much be a defining couple games for the rest of our season. It is just way to early and yeah there are several problems we have but i only think that the problems can be fixed by playing games together and getting some of these earlier games in the season out of the way. All in all im just saying that if they go out and lose these next two games i will not come out thinking that this season is over and we're the "same old rockets" because there is too much basketball left to play
just remember...it's a very long season. there will be highs...enjoy them. there will be lows...don't blow them out of proportion. we have a very entertaining, very competitive team playing in Houston for the first time in a very long time. don't forget to enjoy it.
Only T-Mac, right? No one else needs this message... Obviously everything that goes wrong with the franchise is McGrady's fault, and everything that goes right is all thanks to Yao. T-Mac is the new Steve Francis until he starts putting up 45 a night at 90% shooting.
I definately feel what everyone is sayin...but for us to win in the west....you have to conquer that mountain in SA and you must beat them..which over the last few years has beeen far and between If we can't beat or show that we are gonna at least step to the plate against a team like San Ant..........it really doesn't matter if we win 60 games in the regular season..........I just don't want to become the NBA's version of the Colts............all regular season....no playoffs Don't get me wrong we will have a heck of a season....and yao has arrived finally...its no mirage.....but will be become elite is all I'm sayin.....elite comes from playoffs...not regular season..........
it's not a big deal to lose to Spurs, although it is very disappointing. But I do say stamina is the main issue hinder further progress of Rockets. Even the champion-caliber team Spurs lose to Bobcats. Does that make you feel better? At least I can see the potential of Rockets to be the best in the league.
C.HAYES: MVP OF THE rockets. WHEN rox win THE championship this year, and when YAO SCORES > 30 per game this year, and become a MVP OF THE YEAR, he must remember his most important teammates: T-mc and C.HAYES. CAUSE WITHOUT THEM, yao is just a s***. CHUCK HAYES + YAO----> YAO SCORES > 30 AT least ....+ YAO -----> yao scores > 20 conclusion: C. HAYES is the yao's motivation, cause he's fast, and he's Yao's shadow, he gives yao the courage and confidence, he gives the ball to yao and put Yao to score like a machine. Without HAYES, Rox lost his superpower, and become a soft team... So come back Hayes, you are the MVP OF THE ROCKETS, and YAO needs you to become a superstar, you motive him like a mouse motives a cat, without you, he's just a blind score-machine. all i ask for from my rox right now is to play smart and with intensity. i can accept some early season losses, as long as we're playing well, executing, and staying focused. with all these new players, i fully expect mistakes - but i want to see us learn from them. we need a good showing against the bulls tonight. no more of this "play for 1 half and then quit" bullsh!t.

like i said before.....i don't take any shame in losing to the spurs.......they are champions........I'm sayin this prob of gettin all our opponents down by big digits......and lettin off the gas......this is the nba and every team in this league can beat you on any given night(like spurs, bobcats) All I want to see is my poor rocks take the next step to greatness...i feel like a father holdin his son out to take his first steps.....and the son keeps fallin down....i just want them to walk......you can do it!!!!! no but really i'm not sayin the season is over.....we are going to have a 50 win season in my opinion...i just wonder if we have the gall to actaully finally climb that mountain in sa.....I feel like we have all the pieces to kill them...as we showed the other night...we just gotta stop this 3 quarters of play stuff kinda like yao did last sunday to shaq...the torch was passed and it felt like magic
we will dominizzle. We are not even close to full strength yet!!!!!! I'd say we are playing at 80% strength. We've got 5 new guys in the rotation, Bonzi - Hayes (Serious minutes) Battier, Snyder, Novak and V-span (counting them as 1 person minutes wise) . We haven't played even close to our best basketball. Ideally, i'd like to see more people involved in the offense, and less turnovers - we're getting a lot of turnovers cuz A) we're not handling the ball well, but also, players are not used to each others tendancies. We need to hurry up and get bonzi in there, so he can start gellin Dr. sholes style. We are for real this year!!!
