Yeah, we should have taken J. Williams, hold him hostage to the Bulls and then watch the entire episode blow up in our face like id did Cleveland. If they wanted Butler and knew they wanted Butler, why didn't they just draft Butler? They could have shopped Miller after the draft or just took the deal that was there for them. Why not take the very talented Odom over a player who's best thing is dunking. Personlly, I don't blame the Clippers because in actuality, they were giving Cleveland the better player in Odom. Just think ,Cleveland could have had point forward to run the offense so wagner didn't have to plus 1 developed power forward/c in Ely and 1 guy with a upside at 4 in Wilcox, but they blew it and now they don't have ****. I'm wondering where are all the bbs members that wanted us to take that gamble? Jerry Krause has blown up draft trades before and wound up with trash when he got Fizer. It was too big of a gamblt , so the Rockets did the right thing in getting Ming.
Just goes to show you that if you are going to do a deal then do it!! He who hesitates is lost.... The Rockets did the right thing........ The Great Wall of China is coMING
Settle Down and submitt to your betters ie. RT & CD they know whats needed better than any FAN. they are paid to do their jobs! I know you wanted Mr. Trouble L.Odom. They are not going to get a play mate for Francis & Mobley. Just accept what is done and support the Team.
Obviously you didn't read what I said. I was basically shredding the idea alo of posters had about drafting William because we knew the Bulls wanted him. Some belief was maybe the Bulls would give up a extra player of some quality to get williams and I'm basically saying the Bulls could have drafted ming and then send curry packing to another team and we would be stuck with Williams.
JWD Walker obviously did not read what leebigez said....I agree. hey leebie, I guess I'm missing something. Did something happen to Cleveland after the draft that I'm not aware of.
From the reports Heyp, the Cavs were ready to make a trade with the clipps for miller for the 8,12 and a player to be named. The Clipps supposedly were offering Odom and the Cavs were ready especially if the clipps drafted butler at 8, but then the Cavs called back and wanted Miles insted which i don't understand. The Clipps owner nixed it because if he got Miller which is due for and extension and kept Odom which is due also then that would be a lot of money, plus brand. He at least wanted 1 more yr until he had to give out some more money thats why he wanted to keep Miles and send Odom. So after the deal was nixed, the Clipps just took the best trade value players left in Wilcox and Ely. It would surprise me if Hornets don't fold and take Odom, Wilcox and maybe another player for Davis. They could move Mash to the 2,Wesley to the pg,and have the point forward in Odom. Also, pj brown is a free agent in 2003 so wilcox could take that spot after the yr. They could have Odom,Wilcox and Magloire as a front line after the season. The clipps get the hometown kid who would make them a better . Sooner or later, stern is going tohave to pay someone.
