    This is from Zhang Yi of Sohu Sports right after today's win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

    Do you agree with Yao Ming's viewpoint ?

    what kind of questions is this?

    yes he should. he's a mismatch every night. he's efficient most of the time. he's taking his type of shots so he should take those shots. he just need to be more focused and confident.

    sometimes he rushes b/c he anticipates the double team and sometimes he waits for the doubles and they dont come. he still has to leanr about that.

    Yes he should keep shooting. Without him playing at an MVP level this team won't go anywhere.

    That's not the point. Yao's problem is not FG%. His priority:

    1) stamina;
    2) reduce turnover;
    3) get boards;
    4) improve defense;

    If Yao couldn't improve in the above 4 areas, he would not contribute a lot to the team, rather he could even be a liability.

    OFFCOURSE HE SHOULD. if anything i'm damn glad he is getting 20 plus shots. we've got to do all we can to help him getting hes game back. once he's stamina is back, OUR big lion will be dominamnting again.

    let's face it, houston rockets as a team won't get the benefit of most foul calls. tmac was angry at the refs too and should be tonight. but it is what it is.

    what yao should learn is don't be mad and still play your game. and yao's slowly did that in the 4th. i was glad of that.

    but again, back to the rebounding and defense. those things should be yao's strengths.

    I just don't see how much Yao can improve to reduce his TOs. The main contributions to his TOs is his size and therefore his lack of quickness, I am sure his mind follows it but his body just can't keep up with it. We see it again and again when he tries to block quick small guard's penetration to the basket for a layup.

    Yes you can work on your stamina but how much can you improve to actually be quicker in Yao's size? I doubt not much. :(

    I believe Yao’s injured finger is defiantly bothering him. Not only his field goal accuracy dropped significantly, he’s also missing his free throws. He was 4 for 7 for less than 60% tonight. When was last time Yao shots free throws below 80%? I bet Yao can shots better than 60% with his eyes shut if his finger is health. I guess Yao and the team just don’t want to talk about it because it will just result more intentional whacking on Yao’s finger.

    i know a similar story.

    this guy was damn good, but near the end of the year he faltered. in the playoffs he had issues. next season he was never the same.

    hope this doesn't happen to yao.

    The number of calls Yao gets seems to be directly related to his shooting efficiency.

    I remember before Yao went down with the knee injury, he was getting superstar calls (or at least taking a superstar number of free throws every game).

    Same thing is true during that recent four or five game stretch where he was on fire.

    yeah, the finger. He's being a good soldier about it, but you gotta know it's affecting his play. The thing is, I can't see it healing completely if he keeps playing and keeps getting hit on it. :(

    Well, not necessarily his finger........

    And somewhere in this game with the the Milwaukee Bucks, I thought he torn the plaster bondage off his middle and index finger altogether. (From this angle, the bondage was gone on his right hand). So his dislocated finger should be healing right now.

    And he said it himself........it is more mental than anything else, that he is not yet at playoff level, and of course, he lamented about bad officiating.

    Here are Yao's post game quotes:-

    He should get closer to the basket more, get more layups and dunks. He's shot 50.4%FG this season so far, which is not all that impressive for a center, compared to 2 years ago when he shot 55%. He relies on his turnaround jumpers more and more these days, which is fine imo cause his turnaround jumper is usually uncontested clear shot but you gotta accept that it's not gonna fall at the same % as layups and dunks.

    A missing field goal is better than a turn over, so it isn't his problem.

    Yao took way to many jumpers lately and he also looked really slow. Hopefully he will regain his pre-injury level before we play Jazzs.
