Is Yao planning on getting his shoulder taken care of while he is missing time with the foot stress fracture? His shoulder has been reported to needing surgery, but it has been said that surgery would decrease the amount of strength in his shoulder down to about 70-80%. However surgery would get rid of any recurring pain he would have. I know he said that he was planning on getting it after the Rockets season and Olympics were over but since he has all this rest time now I don't see why he wouldn't just do both (along with anything else he needed to have taken care of). Here are some few personal side questions I have: What would the alternative be if Yao did not get surgery on his shoulder? How long, if ever, would it take for his shoulder to be fine again without surgery and just treating it with rehab? And is there a possibility we could just shut Yao down for the regular season and put him in a crutch and boot and when the Playoffs come around(we are making the playoffs my friends) we reactivate Yao for the final stretch?
I don't really know what kind of shoulder problems Yao has. Depends on the type of injury. However, if hes for 4 months now, he might as well get his shoulder done as well. Make the most of your healing time big man.
He might as well get the 2nd surgery too if hes getting the foot one. Use the rest time you have to get healed up big Yao!
