Should We Use Tierre As Our Backup PG Instead of Mooch

It seems to me that when Tierre was given solid minutes, he always produced a solid stat line and once he became settled down, he seemed to make the correct decisions on the floor. I'm not a Moochie hater but I was just wondering if maybe it would be a better decision to give the backup duties to Tierre, based on the fact that Moochie dribbles too much time off the clock and doesn't give us a good enough defensive pg. I'm not sure of how well Tierre plays D but I think it would be worth a try to let him and Moochie fight for backup duties during training camp and pre season. What do yall think about it?

I dont hate Moochie, but he does not seem to fit our system very well. He likes to fastbreak, but in a half court offense he is useless. Dribbles way too much and refuses to shoot an open 18 footer which completely throws our offense into a whack.

Tierre seemed to do okay when given time. I think he could probably get much better if given consistent minutes.

I'm down for anything that helps us get rid of Moochie, Cato and Rice. Dont hate any of them, but they should not be eating the majority of our cap.

The offense was much smoother with Tierre running the show. After a horrid start, that Portland finale was a joy to watch, offensively.

If not Tierre, someone else should. I still can't believe we signed Mooch to that contract. There are much better point guards for less $.

Would anybody be shocked if the Rockets took Williams or Wagner (if Woods & Dunleavey are gone), to take their 3 guard line-up to the next level?

Of course we should, IMO, address our problems at center and SF before anything else. That said, I hope we can pick up a smart (emphasize smart), sweet shooting backup point guard like Dan Dickau or Jeri Welsch. To remain effective throughout the season, Steve needs a quality backup who penetrates rather than dribbles out the clock or turns the ball over.

Dickau would be the better ball handler, but Welsch would would be a taller, better defender. According to draft analysts, both have sweet shots.

Whoever's better at the fast break. We may not be doing it, but we are TRYING to. So in case our team gets amnesia and starts running, we should have a fastbreaking PG, don't you think?

I always thought Tierre would be better at that though.

Moochie and the #15 (Marcus) could probably net us a big man from Atlanta? Someone from the Bulls? Golden State?

If the Bulls are looking for a PG to split time with Crawford, how does Mooch, #5 and #15 sound considering they're at #3?(for their pick of course)

With how deep this draft is getting, there are some decent PG's out there that can be picked up in the second round. I can't stand watching Moochie dribble, dribble, dribble, and then dribble some more, then watch the clock get down to 3 seconds and jack up some ugly shot or turnover the ball.

Moochie's contract has also become an albatross for the cap. I think he may be one of the highest paid back-up PG's in the league. Hopefully the Rockets will find some way to unload Moochie's tired dribbling act and his contract.

Exactly. I think at least 3 of those guys will be available when we pick in the 2nd round.

For some reason, I don't think Moochie is so great...chalk up another apparent contract blunder...and to think we are still paying Maloney (remember?) a couple mill. a year...psst!

As for Tierre, I think he has really showed something...

We should at least invite Moloney back to camp and see if he's good enough to work for the millions we're still paying him.
