... Lamar Odom finally end to the Heat ? He's too talented to come of the bench and as they already have Dwyane Wade ( SG ) and Eddie Jones ( SG who can play as well SF ). Last year, Rockets loved him ( much more after workouts ) but he wasn't still available with the 13 th choice. He would definitely solve our problem at 3 ( he is tough, good defender and not bad offensive player ) So ???
Odom isn't going to come off the bench. You can guarantee that. You could even see Odom playing point guard. Dwayne wade is not even in the equation. Butler could play SF while Jones can play SG. There will be no disgruntled players for us to snatch up.
i dont think the heat will trade butler unless they get a estabished star in return. also if lamar odoms is in a heat uniform next year i dont think they will push butler to the bench they will rather slide him to the 2 spot and try to trade eddie jones for a expiring contract.
CARON BUTLER is too talented to come off the bench, not Lamar Odom, we all know that he is a starter.
They would get rid of Eddie Jones and his big contract before they give up someone as Athletic and has potential like Caron Butler.
i'll add to what most of you are saying. the Heat won't trade Butler unless we give up a major player. Odom is most definitely a starter. He's one of the most talented players in the league and a ton of teams would love to play him. Eddie Jones could be had, but his remaining contract is not cheap.
Hes definatley capable, but when is the last time you have seen a 6-10 PG? I can wait to see him. He might go up against guys a foot shorter than him. We will see what happens tho, Jones is also capable of playing the point.
Exactly, Odom point, Wade Sg, Heat trying to get rid of Jones, Butler SF, ? PF, Grant C. they still need a center and a lot more.
Just a quick question: why does everyone think that the Rox had the 13th pick last year? Boki was the 15th pick! We only had one lottery pick (YAO!)!!!
In a heartbeat. If they could. But, how can they??? Maybe for Damon, his horrid contract, and horrendous run-ins with Johnny Law. Mt Mutombo? No way, even there. So, Damon or therwise, I doubt it a whole whole lot.
1.) Jones is not really capable of playing the point, handles are not his strong suit, and he's not a particularly special passer. 2.) Odom played a decent amount of PG his rookie year, and some his second year as well. He has a rare combination of near 7 foot size, handles, and court vision, that is why he received the Magic comparisons coming out of college. 3.) The most likely scenario if they get Odom will be Odom and Wade sharing the point guard responsibilities. Edit: 4.) Caron Butler landing on our team for anything other than Francis (or Yao) is virtually impossible. Perhaps with the loss of Sabonis, the Trailblazers should pursue Yao Ming.
