Hey guys, don't you think we've seen enough Landry improvement this season to give him the chance to start?

Carl has been playing really well, he's been the most consistent rocket along with Luis IMO and i believe coach finally should give him the chance to start, even giving up some defense and the spark off the bench that he usually provides...

Of course i'm not bashing chuck, just talking about production on the court.
Chuck still is a better defender, and he does many things for the team but production wise talking i think Carl should play from the beginning of the games to put his all on the court since the jump ball giving the team another true weapon on the offensive end, a realiable shooter and above average rebounder, even more in the offensive end, a great hustler along with Luis as both demonstrated it today, carrying us the whole 4th quarter.

    Please discuss...

Who's gonna score coming off the bench, Brian Cook?

    Not the frontline....

We need to start CBud over Shane or Trevor...that is the problem, those two stand around too darned much.

Cbud needs to improve his defense before staring over any of those two...

His D is pretty good, but it is the O that we are struggling with these days....

One of Shane or Trevor needs to grab some pine.

Agreed DD. But I do think Carl needs to start.

If I were Rick, I'd go with this lineup:

    Aaron Brooks
    Chase Budinger (Ideally Tmac)
    Trevor Ariza
    Luis Scola
    Carl Landry

Bring Shane, Kyle, and Chuck of the bench. When those three are in, balance them out with AB, Luis, or Carl for offense.

Agreed, I could see morey doing what he did last year by trading rafer so brooks could start to battier.

Do you take into consideration that our bench will get owned when our 2nd unit is on the court.

Shane, Kyle and Chuck off the bench, oh, don't forget our Andersen, what if we got off to a bad, even worse start like today and we definitely need our bench energetic guys to turn things around, just look back at what we did in Philly, they just factored in the game and changed the tone.

our starting line defintely lacks offense. there was a point where hayes was giving us some production but we can't expect to ride hayes every game. scola isn't the most consistent guy out there, and ariza and battier couldn't score if their lives depended on it. brooks is our only guy capable of putting points up but when his 3 pointer isn't falling you get first quarters like today and against philly.

bottom line is our starters are digging a hole for us and then the bench has to bring us back in it.

Don't you think we're giving up too much on the offensive end with chuck starting?
Btw i think we're near to have Tracy back, so coach A can adjust the rotation, and bring back McGrady of the bench to gain rythm and confidence, get his game going but adjusting to this game philosophy,i mean, team ball over selfish players or go-to guys.

    Maybe we could try this:

    Starters:

    PG: Brooks
    SG: Ariza or C-Bud
    SF: Battier
    PF: Landry
    PF/C:Scola

    Bench:

    Lowry
    T-Mac
    C-Bud or Ariza
    Hayes
    Andersen

Of course there are situations in which the lineup should be different, but coach can adjust that easily (for example the Brooks/Lowry combo) It depends on matchups against some teams

    Something needs to happen.

    Play McGrady.

    Trade McGrady.

    Lineup change.

Something. Being down by double digits halfway through the first quarter every game is ridiculous.

No, we'll reserve that role for Chuck Hayes. Who, we'll put as SF and then he'll lead our bench in scoring!

I'm tired of the "energy off the bench" description of Landry.

I would rather Landry start and have the Rockets have a strong first quarter than be down double digits by the end of the first quarter and hope Landry can bail the team out. That strategy seemed to work out against the Sixers, but apparently not against the Raptors, and it definitely won't work in the playoffs.

On another note, what's the situation with Ariza? Will Budinger have an opportunity to start next game? DD?

Our line-up is fine. We simply need more talent on our roster. We will continue to be inconsistent until we make a trade for a bigger piece...

I agree. In my opinion, Landry is the Rockets best player, and he needs to start.

that talent is sitting on the bench in a suit. How can many fans and the coaching staff think that tmac is going to hurt the chemistry and team. He scores which has been lacking, he can play D, he can play point. He can come off the bench, think about it.
    A second unit of
    pg lowry
    sg cbud
    sf tmac
    pf landry
c andersen , this 2nd unit, gives you balance on offense and defense, if andersen struggles, put in hayes and you still have enough offense.. Rick and Morey need to realize this and play Tmac if hes ready, its enough already , its sad to see. We should of won today , but we couldn't hit a bucket :(

His D has been at least as good as Ariza's plus he does not gamble nearly as much

They do need someone else who can dribble besides AB. It's really hurting the starting unit.

Don't you see our problem is not about starting Landry instead of Hayes? Landry will give the team 20 points every night, starting or coming off the bench. So what's the difference?

Our problem is we can't get consistant contribution from our guards/wings - Brooks, Ariza, Budinger. They've been on-off-on-off-on-on-off-off-...

No, Landry and Scola while solid on defense, would be abused against most good centers. At least with Hayes you stand a decent shot of out muscling them or using his quickness.

Better to bring Landry off the bench.
