Instead of this torres guy ,rider is a proven talented player that can score 20 pts every night and he could play for us at the sf/sg position and he would give us the best backcourt in the leauge , if we cant sign any good centers then at least we should sign somebody good like him .

Rider's a proven headcase too. The Rockets will not even consider him, case closed.

By the way, don't worry about signing Torres. I highly doubt he's even on the 12 man roster. The Rockets always used a 3 guard rotation when everyone was healthy last season. When Cuttino needs a rest, Steve will play the 2 and Mooch will play the 1. You don't even need a backup two on this roster unless Steve, Cat, or Mooch goes down for an extended period, which hasn't happened before.

So we already have Cato at 5 and GRice which we'll slide over to the 2 spot and let Rider fight for PT. Now we can pick up Rodman at the 3 spot. Mason at the 4 spot. I'm sure Maxwell would be happy to come play PG for us. We might want to bring "2 Sandwich" back to alternate at 5. I'm sure Griffen would bloom in this environment.

Don't laugh. We've heard folks on this BBS make strong arguments for each one of these players.

All we need to do is drop Rudy and bring a clinical psychologist to coach.

Elie would have been far more effective and not risky. Elie could play 5 games and still be positive for the team.

If we don't need potheads on the team then will might as well cut the entire NBA.

According to Charles Oakley, you would only need to cut 60%.

A player like Rider will demand too many minutes. Mobley will play 30+ minutes and at the 3 Rice and Griffin will have the minutes so Houston just wouldn't be a good fit for him. But he is a great talent.

He's also a proven distraction and team cancer. He also wouldn't play within Rudy's system.

Look---Phil is one of the greatest coaches to walk this planet when dealing with miscreants and he cut Rider loose. You don't want that burden on your coaching staffs hands.

Besides, a good SG does not = a missing big man.

Michael was a fairly good SG, and he seemed to make up for the Bulls' horrific big men (sorry Luc) pretty well.

Did we sign Mooch and I missed it? Last I heard he was wanting to be paid like a starter, how do you have him in the rotation when he is not on the team?

RIDER?!?!?! Are you one of the ass clowns that also suggested we bring Rodman in to play?? Hmmm, I know, lets bring in William Bedford, Chris Washburn and Jason Williams AND THEN WE WILL HAVE A CHAMPIONSHIP!

Bill & Calvin always say nice things about Rider during Rocket games. they say he's a good person. maybe Rudy and CD have had similar experiences? might be worth a shot?
