Should we even think Trade now?

With our 5 game winning streak I dont think we should even think about trading anyone right now. Yes, GMs should always be looking for ways to improve their squad, but at the same time I can see this group starting to come together as a TEAM.

We have been seeing a lot of rumors that the Nets are interested in Swift again. First off, they wont offer anything that we want/need. But more importantly is the fact that Stro is showing signs that he is getting more and more comfortable in JVGs system. I know he isn't getting all the rebounds that we would all like him to get, but he is beginning to get VERY active on both ends of the floor....steals, assists, few offensive rebounds, etc.

I guess what Im trying to say is that unless some ridiculous deal is offered and we basically rob another team, I say leave this team alone and see what happens. It's very possible that we come home having gone 5-1 or 6-0 on our West coast road trip. Let's see how things go for a while, then maybe rethink and start looking for trades.

Even IF Stro does not become the world-beater that we all hope for, he is still pretty good, and very athletic.

Just look at the Dallas series last year.

Had we even had just JHo last year during the playoffs, conventional wisdom says we would have won that series handily.

Now add Stro into that mix as well, and it would liekly have been even easier.

The real question is going to be: Will the two-headed monster of JHo and Stro be enough to enable us to neutralize opposing players like Duncan and Amare?

Perhaps by season's end that may be that case. I would rather go the season with those two and find out for sure, rather than abandon the Stro experiment this early.

Unless, as you say, someone offers us a crazy stupid trade that we simply could not pass up.

I think that we just have to address to identity needs for our team. We need a real bute down low to get rebounds, but perimeter quickness really needs to be addressed in the off-season.

lol we're far from a perfect team

we definitely need someone at the guard position in particular.

someone that can bring some fire and also able to dunk from half court.

Yah, I still think we need a reliable pg, what with Alston and Sura's shaky reports, wes can't handle the point, and although I love luther head, he alone is not enough. Moochie was awesome last night, but I would not want to rely on him in important situations. I'm willing to keep what we have, but there is room for improvement.

I say no. We need our PG's back. Waiting on Rafer and Bobby.

I was wondering the same thing. It looks like the team is starting to come together. I really hope Rafer gets well soon so we can see what we really have. I dont know if the rockets would pull a trade unless its something too good to be true.

It would still be REALLY nice to have a 3rd person that can create their own shots. If TMac or Yao gets hurt, we're in big trouble.

With so many people injured, it'd be premature to start trading. Heck, Tmac isn't even at 100%! Imagine if Sura, DA, Tmac, Rafer, and Barry were all at 100%. Our record would be top 10 for sure.

Absolutely trade the whole team away except T-Mac and then fire the coaching staff and GM. ;)

If we can move Wesley or Moochie's expiring contracts for a player, you have to look at that. Maybe the Pacers and a team trading for Artest would be looking for a third team to make a deal, which would be another thing to look at.

at this moment we only lack of a backup SF, tall, atheletic, play good D, something like Devin George from Lakers, or Lamar Johnson from Denver . Then we are good to go. We should use Alston for the trade. Since Moochie is playing better and Sura is about back, and Wesley switching to PG, we dont really need Alston. How ya'll think.

They always need a trade. That's what this board is all about.

Sell high. Buy low. It just might be the perfect time for a trade.

We are weak at the 4 and the point. Forget about Moochie. He should be playing for the Austin Toros. Sura may be done for his career. Wesley should be dumped as he cannot maintain this level of play.

We are old with little depth.

Speaking of trade, I thought we were sappose to get an anouncement today according to the "CD radio inteview" thread from yesterday. I guess, they're holding off for now, since the Rockets are playing well.

We'd have to have multiple teams involved, but I think we should package Juwan and T-Mac and see if we could get Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley and Kelvin Cato.

It's going to be hard to deal anybody because everybody is contributing something right now, save Sura, Rafer and Stephen G. But the bottom line is, come playoff time, we've got to have more youth and quickness in the backcourt, or we are gonna get shot down by somebody.

The most likely trade candidates are Moochie, Wesley, possibly Anderson, and Juwan. How do you trade Wesley after he has sucked it up on this roadtrip, playing out of position, but getting this team set up, running the point, and hitting shots?

We've either got to get Rafer back, or we've gotta get another point guard and make some sort of trade for another solid perimeter defender, if we are going to have a chance to go all the way this year.
