This was about Liberation as well......no gloating or victory parade needed.

The last few military parades I recall seeing on TV were Saddam's and Kim IL Sung's. Real men don't need parades; freedom et al. should be its own reward.

It seems obscene to have a parade in the U.S. while Iraqis have no water, electricity or safety & looting runs rampant. We can dance & sing when there is a free society for Iraqis by Iraqis. word

Our troops put their lives on the line and not all of them are going to come back. So yes.

What's left out of the equation here is that Bush's people don't really WANT a parade yet. They'd just as soon wait until after the election. If you read the entire Drudge article, you'll see a quote from a Bush staffer saying something like "this is an ongoing effort... we're still at war." Whether we should be "still at war" or not (and I certainly think the war on terror is necessarily an ongong effort), it's a very important part of election strategy to continue with the image of Bush as a wartime president. A parade would hamper that perception. The article also mentions how the Gulf War I in NYC was the largest in city history. Bush 2 learns well from the mistakes of Bush I. He doesn't want a parade until all the votes are counted.

One thing they know over there is obsene...if the roles were reversed..they would be murdering our POWS by now.
Never saw much to sing and dance about in any muslim country I visited, even in Turkey, where they are somewhat tolerent towards non muslims.
Be assured, they will never have a free society, like anything you could imagine. Individual rights are a concept their culture has yet to consider.
The Parade.. only if we find Scott Speicher alive....but like I said earlier, thats not likely.

NO PARADE, but recognize it somewhere, somehow but not as a victory.

The recognition should be about the brave soldiers and really a huge thank-you.
