Should the Toyota Center Lighting be Changed to Help Ryno's Shooting?

It seems obvious at this point that there's something about Toyota Center that impairs Ryno's ability to shoot. This significantly affects our home court advantage as he is a crucial element to our starting lineups, and we have clearly gotten off to a bad start at home.

Should we dim or adjust somehow the lighting to see if it positively affects his shot? I think a neat way to light the stadium would be to dim the seats and brighten the court lights, similar to MSG and Staples. This would also have other positive effects, such as obscuring all those empty seats and making it less embarrassing to watch games on TV. Thoughts?

I don't know what the issue is, but he's not the first one to have issues.

I can also say that my eyes hurt watching the games at Toyota Center.

No, we're not gonna pussify the Toyota Center for the $20M 3pt specialist. ;)

Yes, they should change the lighting anyways because it looks better & will hide the empty seats as OP mentioned.

Great idea. I see it as a win-win. Plus the dimmed lighting just looked cooler.

Did he shoot well in Houston before he joined the squad?

Yes, I remember it looked great during the ASG. Should be like that all the time.

Our record at home is worse than our road record.

I always feel like we play worse at home and that is a mystery to me.

He's worse when shooting in red arenas, and by a statistically significant margin.

I believe what the Knicks and Lakers do with their lighting should be a league standard.

29.6% in Houston before becoming a Rocket. For his career, he's 32% at Toyota Center and 38.8% everywhere else.

I honestly believe players just aren't hyped enough in games at Toyota center because of how miserable the crowd is. It feels like a division 2 college game.

Now would be the perfect time with new ownership coming in.

I'm sure Morey knows some sports science pros that can come in and do retina testing on him :D

That's not 100% true. I see your point with the crowd and stuff and you're right about that. Our crowd is embarrassing.
But Ryno is still the only one who's a completely different player at home compared to road games.

Isn't he shooting like 27% at home and 48% on the road?

They dim the lights now when they have inhouse entertainment on the jumbotron. I liked it a lot, would love if they did it for the entire game.

Definitely tinker with those lights. Why not?

They've played great on the road in front of dead crowds.

they should definitely dim the lights to cover up all the empty seats in the lower bowl which is just embarrassing

the Toronto announcers were shocked at how empty the place was, they questioned why there were so many empty seats when the team is good and fun to watch

our home atmosphere is probably bottom 5 in the league, especially when u factor in that we’re a contender...we have the home atmosphere of a 35 win team with no star
