AJ needs a legit threat partner next year and Jennings isn't going to be with the Packers.

Can we afford him -- do we want him?

    Absolutely

I think there is a way to make it work, they can restructure and cut guys

It will be a pointless gesture unless we change the offense.

He isn't the physical marvel that other elite receivers are, and is somewhat of a system receiver. I would listen, but I suspect he will command too much money.

The Texans issues go well beyond a number two receiver. Knowing Kubiak he is more likely to address the OL than look receiver.

Sorry, but changing the QB is not going to change how the WR2 is featured in this offense.

That's a Kubiak thing, not a Schaub thing.

Ummmmm, you do not that Kubiak/Shanny famous Denver teams featured Rod Smith AND Ed MCCaffery, right?

Just because Kubiak and the offense doesn't have a legit #2 doesn't mean he wouldn't use one. Kevin Walter at one time was a good #2, just not anymore.

    1) Let me know when we have John Elway throwing the ball

    2) You're comparing Ed McCaffery to Greg Jennings

Unless we're going to put the ball in the air a LOT more, Jennings is a waste of precious little resources. 60 catches for Jennings would be a total travesty (the typical McCaffery-Walter amount).

More likely we go after a Jacoby or Mike Wallace type who can stretch the field.

Our offense will still feature heavy running, lots of passes to TE's, and a good dose of Dre, so another 1,000 yard WR isn't really necessary.

Yep, let's just get a burner to keep the defense honest.

He's not as good as he'll get paid. Pass. If we target a legit WR2 they better actually be great players. Great options will make Schaub a better QB, not vice versa like Rodgers does with his receivers (Jennings too).

If I'm daydreaming about WRs, I'm going after Mike Wallace.

A more sensible signing might be a guy like Donnie Avery, Josh Cribbs, or (don't laugh) Tedd Ginn Jr.

All of those guys can play the slot and return kicks.

Let Jean or Posey take the #2 spot.

Know what else I'm doing? I'm picking up the phone and asking Detroit what's the lowest offer they'd take for exiled WR Titus Young.

I don't think Jean is that good, he's had enough time/chances and he's never risen to the occasion. Don't get me wrong, he'd have 7TD's in GB or NE but he's still probably not a legit WR2 option for 28 NFL teams. Then again, not sure Walter is either.

Walter is too expensive now. Didn't Jean end up hurt most of the year?

Isnt Jennings on the wrong side of 30? what use is spending a bunch on a free agent reciever going to do if Schaub is locked in on 2 guys? There have been players open all year, Schaub just didnt see them.

Jennings has had more than 70 catches in a season twice, but I'm not really sure what you are trying to say anyway. Getting somone to throw the ball to is hardly a waste of resources. If they sign a single free agent, it should be a WR

I don't think he will. He's over 30 and coming off an injured season. I think he is the most reasonable option of the good receivers out there, someone they can afford and take a chance on.

Yes, twice because he was injured one year and was rested during pointless games in 2009.

Also, don't forget how the Packers spread the ball around so much.

However, his YPC is really high.

Jennings is a legit #1, and will be paid Vincent Jackson type money.

    Simply out of the budget.

Whereever he goes, he's going to get more targets and more catches than he would get here.
