Should the Texans Consider Drafting A QB?

First of all, I know it's early. But given Schaub's significant foot injury, should we look to turn the keys over to another QB? There are a few QB's in this upcoming draft with 1st Round talent: Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley, Landry Jones and Robert Griffin III.

Personally, I'd love to get RG3. He throws an excellent deep ball, and adds a completely new aspect to our offense: QB's ability to escape. He also wouldn't cost as much to move up.

    What do you think?

Just 1 game, and his receivers screwed him out of 2 long TD passes in the first qtr.

Let's see what Yates can do the rest of the season and I'll answer that question then.

No way they take a QB in the first. Maybe in the third, but that's as high as I could imagine. WR is a higher priority.

Yates was a steal in the 5th and I'm pretty sure Kubiak is confident in Leinart. I'd take all 3 Texans QB's over any QB on Seattle's roster.

    We're fine at QB.

I could see us maybe going after Tannehill if he falls into the 5th round but... why carry 4 QB's? We're not cutting Leinart and we're not pulling the plug on Yates.

Leinart is under contract for next year. If Yates does ok then they shouldn't draft a QB unless its a 5th or 6th round selection and no other position player is on their radar. If Keenum is available in the 5th, then yes, take em!

I'd like to see how Yates does, I think he is our QB of the future.

I'd say NO in the upcoming draft. Texans have more pressing needs at NT, CB, S, WR, etc. Plus Schaub will be back and the Texans have done a pretty good job acquiring backup QB's in free agency.

    Here's my draft wish list

    1st-NT
    2nd-WR
    3rd-CB
    4th-S
    5th-OL
    6th-OL
7th-OL (it's a veteran group and we are very thin with our depth on the sidelines)

Can anyone here compare RG3 to Vince Young? That's what would scare me about drafting him. From what I can tell it does look like RG3 has a much better arm with more accuracy.

Good Lord no! I've seen all I want to see of Tannehill. I was on the Tannehill bandwagon early in the year, but I don't think I want to see him in a Texan uniform.

Maybe take a QB later in the draft.

Our first need is to get a legit WR2 to play with AJ. I like Jones and Walter but they ain't gonna cut it.

Also look to get a NT or maybe a CB?

Assuming Schaub's foot is healthy by next season, QB isn't really a priority yet. Schaub is still pretty young, despite the hairline. We need to address CB and WR first. We then have the luxury of drafting the best player available. If that happens to be a QB, so be it.

No need to reach for one though.

Plus, we still have no idea how Yates will do. We may already have our QB of the future on the roster. Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
