Well its clear the Rox need someone who can close the game (while t-mac's not around). Many BBSers seem to think Spree is the answer. Arguments can go both ways. For example, he has played in the VanGundy system and knows what to expect. On the other hand he was a total head case last year, demanding more money to feed his family, haha it still makes me laff . Anyways lets just say he will accept a 1 year contract for the minimum, would you be willing to pick him up? I personaly am kind of undecided. I mean if its a one year deal id wana jump on it but than again he could be a cancer. At the end of the day though i'd probably jump on the deal. Whats the worst that can happien he dosn't get any playing time or we end up cutting him.
Spree isn't the answer. You think our guys are rusty? Well Sprewell hasn't even seen training camp or preseason this year, much less a few games. He's old and he's slow and he was never the greatest shooter in the world when he was young and quick. I wish there was an answer as easy as this, there just isn't.
Sounds like he'd fit in just fine. While I would normally vote NO, I'm up to the idea of adding another scorer. I'm still waiting to see how DA and TMac play together, DA is still averaging 12ppg but he is shooting a horrible %. I think that he'll get some easier shots w/ TMac. But right now, having only Bowen to plug in for TMac is just plain bad.
This has got to be the year of the assinin posts.... And whats more amazing is when I voted "NO" it was almost at 50/50
A minimum contract at one year, why not? Spree will outform our current starting 3, Ryan Bowen, who scored 0 points in 20 minutes last game. Spree does not only feed his family, but also his teammates. If you treat him nice, he might feed you too. Spree is a warrior who takes no crap. He is this year's X factor. Go Spree!
NO to Spree, trade for David Lee. He's like Rybo, plays both forward positions, plays D with energy and hustle, except he can shoot.
i wouldnt spree while still is a serviceable player he just has a bad attitude and i dont even know if jvg can get through him. jvg coached spree to his best years in ny but this problem is because of tmacs injury, tmac will be back soon enough and then what will happen to spree when he comes back? he will be regulated to splitting time with DA and Bowen in the depth rotation? it may not sit well with spree that he is playing limited minutes. also consider in once tmac is back if we signed spree he would not have that large of a role on offense, while that be ok with him? his defense is still great at streches but not nearly what it was 5 years ago, let alone 10. honestly if there was a player available w/ spree's skillset and age but differently mentality i would love to sign him. but spree is a bad idea no matter how you slice it
Everyone's got a right to an opinion. Think it through before throwing the "rolleyes" out at everyone.
