amare recently indicated on nba.com that he thought that this was the perfect time to be a free agent, thus hinting he may enter the free agent market this 2010 summer, the utah jazz have made it clear that the cannot afford to resign boozer, so boozer is likely to leave them this summer
should rox go after either one or should they stand pat?

I dont think Boozer brings much, if anything, more to the table than Luis. Amare brings another element to the team, he would be my choice

If it came down to those two, standing pat would probably be the best option. We should see what we can do with a fully healthy (fingers crossed) team next year. We don't have the money to out and out sign either one of these guys and I'd rather not give up a few of our current playeres.

If we go after Boozer or Amare, it would have to be a sign and trade. It's possible with all the extra assets that we have. Amare didn't want to sign an extension, though, when the Suns offered him at the trade deadline to us.

I can't stand either one of them. I also don't think either one of them would put us over the top.

I do, and I do think they definitely put us over the top. Are you kidding me?

    Yao
    Amare/Boozer
    Martin
    Ariza
    Brooks

That's a hell of a roster. No, they're not dominant, like a Bosh, but more importantly, they're consistent. That's key, to have someone you can rely on every night. Having a powerful front court is so important because of their defense and reliable scoring. With Yao and Amare giving you at least 40/20 game, that takes off so much pressure off Brooks and Ariza. A comfortable Brookiza equals lotsa 3s and not to mention Martin putting his usual, efficient numbers.

And as long as we keep Yao and Martin, I'm fine with whatever we give up because we're deep enough and have youth on our side (lot of upside to our players).

LOL if we give up stuff to get Amare don't you think we'll lose a lot of that depth and youth? I've had enough of getting guys who are chronically injured and don't play D. At least with Bosh he played amazingly good D in the olympic team, with amare and loozer all you'll have are two defensive liabilities who make more dough than they should.

You don't even know how Boozer and Amare will react with Yao. Amare couldn't coexist with Shaq (and Shaq's faster than Yao) and Boozer played poorly next to Dwigh Howard in the Olmpic team.

Boozer would give us that toughness that we really lack right now.
    Hmmm...

I would rather just draft a stud C and develop Jordan Hill.

I stopped reading when you said Amare would make us a better defensive team. Also, Stoudemire is not a great rebounder, he's never even averaged 10 per game. Have you ever seen the guy play?

I don't think we need a new PF, but out of the two I woild prefer carlos boozer, I think he's a better fit and would give us that tough edge

Don't look now but Boozer has a PER of something like 25. He's putting up 20/11. I can't stand the guy and I fully expect that if he can't sign with a top contender of his choice (Miami) that if he signs with any lesser team he will stink it up until they have to give him away. I would NOT give up any assetts in a S&T for Boozer. It's not worth it. But just for kicks, how about Jeffries and our first rounder to a team with space in a 3-way S&T for Boozer, with Utah picking up a future first rounder. That would probably be doable as long as Boozer wanted to come here. But not worth it to me.

I need more cowbell. Oh, I also need more threads proposing the acquisition of Boozer/Stoudamire.

I was an Amare guy going into the trade deadline but the waiving the physical crap has RED FLAGS popping up everywhere and how he has exploded says contract push to me.

Boozer is interesting but just doesn't seem like the right fit HOWEVER he would cost, money and players, considerably less then Bosh so it might be something to keep in mind.

What can David Lee do that Scola can't do at a fraction of the price and while playing at least some semblance of defense?
