What difference does it make ... he's going to do it anyways. What is Clintons hit list up to now ... over 150?

I think a president should be allowed the permission to do so. But wouldn't this be in the hands of the NSA? I would say the CIA but they are too busy running their drug trafficing ring.

This is our reward for the Republicans controlling the White House and both houses of Congress.

I can't wait until they make Christianity the national religion and change the face on the $1 bill from George Washington to Joe McCarthy. [IMG]

How is that any different from outright murder? If we sink to the level of murders, we don't destroy them, we become them.

I would not object to a presidential order of assassination after a war has been officially declared by Congress. Police actions, peace-keeping missions, UN interventions, and all the other stuff doesn't count. If an official war has been declared, an assassination is just another -- if very precise -- offensive. Doing it outside the confines of war, however, is simply terrorism and murder and should not be condoned, much less legislated, by the government.

I find this bill to be funny.

The proponents talk about this measure helping to reduce terrorism -- ha!

It has been actions such as this throughout the past60 or so years that have led to all of this anti-american terrorism. Yeah, responding with assasination won't make anyone angrier. [IMG]

It has always created such "pro-U.S." feelings when we topple small governments and select new leaders for them. this will be even better.

Of course, such assasinations continue with many different governments, but for a country such as the U.S. to openly sanction such actions, much less allow it to be started at the simple request of one person -- the president is down right dangerous, both internally and externally.

Maybe I should be like BK and wish we were France. [IMG]

That is an excellent point. Although I disagree with war, I cannot argue your point. It is, in essence, a calculated offensive if done during a war and I could see the logical extention of that argument.
