If Fizer stays healthy and gets a chance to play somewhere he is going to be a steal for whoever signs him. However, apparently his health is a major concern and is scaring off potential suitors. He's better than Spoon but unless the impossible could happen: trade Spoon for whatever then signing him, there isn't much logic to considering him for the current squad--esp. after the Padgett signing.

Well, good point! But are there still some FA left in the market we could steal? Just like what we did late last year - J. Jackson!!!
or just stay what we have now?

I love the guy, I think in the right situation he can thrive...a lot like KT.

Heck, I like him better than and PF on the current Rocket Roster.

I assumed the Bobcats were signing him. If he's reduced to looking for the minimum or the million dollar exception, I'd take him even though we have too many PFs.

    No. Four 4s are enough.

I really don't see the reason why? He's undersized, hasn't been healthy, and he isn't any better than what we have already... and that isn't saying too much.

I read somewhere that NJ is trying to sign Fizer. This guy was every big as good as Kenyon Martin was in college. He just had some tough breaks in the NBA.

    We will NOT get Fizer.

    He's not a Knick.

I wouldn't want Fizer - not a character veteran - coming from a loosing organization - suspect work ethic. I doubt he could outplay Spoon - who does the dirty work without complaint - and who is the only bulky body the Rox have outside of Yao.

That is irrational. He could never earn a starting spot for the lowly Bulls, barely averages double-digits in points, has never averaged 6 rebounds per, shoots in the low 40's, and has barely played the past two years.

Howard and MoT are far better options. He would be better than Spoon, though.

We've got enough undersized "tweener" forwards. What we need now is some height/wingspan at the 4 spot

Fizer was allegedly unhappy with his playing time with the Bulls because Chandler got to start over him. How do you think he would fit with 4 other PF's? He was also cut by the Bobcats even though they did need a PF. I get the feeling they were concerned with his injury.
He is tougher than Mo and can rebound despite being undersized and is young but there is no place for him on the Rockets.

    I thought Fizer was a 3?

Either way, I'm with those who say enough of the tweener Fs. I loved KT to death, but with Yao, we either need a banger to clean the boards (which Fizer does not do) or a sharpshooter to make double teams pay (which Fizer does not do). He's a nice talent to have, but he doesn't fit into the system we currently are trying to run.
