Should minorities arm themselves to defend against rising right wing hate?

It needs to happen. Theres no better way to get the right to finally look af some gun control legislation.

 

If they feel the need to, why not? That said, anyone who plans on carrying needs to realize the burden they are choosing to put on themselves and the potential danger they could be in if they don't know how to act in certain situations.

It's one of the many reasons I don't carry in public, aside from the obvious....that I don't feel the need to.

That said, it's a right for all Americans, why should "minorities" be any different?

The NYTimes page appears and then disappears on my iPad, for some reason. If a Rabbi has a permit to carry a gun, I certainly don't care if he does, but a general call for minorities to "arm themselves?" I'm against it. That would play into the hands of the extremists and only increase violence and chaos. The borough president is a former cop, so I don't care if he does, either. I'm against a general "call to arms," which is how I interpreted you headline.

I think black people should worry about there number one killer and that’s other black people. Arm innocent civilians in Chicago.

Gun ownership is lower for black people.

Don't worry black on black on white murder rate is only 19%. So the vast majority of people killed by black people is other black people. So white people don't have to worry about a black person killing them. You only need to worry about getting murdered if you are black, and most of that is concentrated in a few violent areas.
