It looks like this trade is designed to keep us competitive this year, as well as years to come. I think Scola's minutes should go up roughly 15%, which won't leave much time for Hill. The Rockets should develop Hill, but not at the cost of missing the Playoffs. With Roy possibly out for the season, Scola needs big minutes for our final push. Just look what the D-league did for Dorsey. I'm all for sending Hill to the D-League. He's not gonna develop at the end of the bench, just like Brooks didn't post Bobby Jackson trade.

Do you realize that we just lost Landry & Dorsey?

    He isn't going anywhere.

NO! Why are you worried about making the playoffs this year...to get the 8th seed and get crushed by the Lakers?? I say let the kid play so he'll be ready for next year when (hopefully) we'll have a solid squad!

Plus we can get into the lottery and add that to our list of assets we currently have!

We can probably make the playoffs with him playing 8-10 minutes per game anyhow.

Jeffries will get a lot of Landry's minutes. Be interesting to see where the bench spark comes from in the next few games with Lowry out and Landry gone.

The difference between the 14th overall pick and 15th overall pick is not that great. And playoff experience is not a bad thing for young players (infact, it is the opposite).

I would much rather c them make the playoffs and continue playing their hearts out than just taking for the 13th or 14th overall pick.

Nope... We have the rest of this season and the summer to turn him into a beast...

His career is about to take off in Houston...

Let's let these youngsters play and develop. Winning this year is not important.

Its a bigger difference than one or two picks its more like 4 or 5 cause of all the crappy Eastern conference teams.

NO!!!, we should do the opposite, we need to play him as much as possible this season, so he can develop, the same thing should apply to chase, lets develop this guys to make a playoff run next year....

Hill should be the alternative scorer coming out of the bench! Plus, Jordan can run on the floor.

Actually if we were to make the playoffs, given the difference b/t the east and the west record wise to get into the playoffs, we would drop from 12th to 14th to possible 18th to 20th which does make a difference....IMO

I go with going higher in the lottery, and let this guys develop for next year, we already know what Battier, Hayes, and Scola have, time to see what Chase, Jordan & Armstrong got to offer!!

Umm because as fans it would be better to see our team make the playoffs instead of just missing the playoffs.

I hope Adelman plays him just as much as he was playing Landry. I want to find out what he's got at the NBA level, and I don't mind too much if we miss the playoffs. Not that I think we should try to tank or anything, but we do need to prioritize player development to a certain extent.

Ain't going to happen, Adelman is probably all hyped up after this trade to finally make a playoff push for this season. This team is going to be a pretty tough out come playoff time. They have a true scorer and they finally have some size. Hill still needs some development and is under contract for the next few years, I see it as tough for him to break into the rotation.

It's a dilemma. From the little I've seen of Hill, he is not ready for prime time just yet and could really use some time in the D-League. however, with Landry and Dorsey gone, the big men reserves on our bench now consist of the potent combo of Cook, Jeffries, and Anderson. So Hill may have to play.
