Ok, assuming Rick will actually play francis regularly now, should francis replace Rafer as the starting five or stick to the 2nd unit to provide scoring and assist punch off the bench with james, bonzi and scola?

who is willing to bet that once Bonzi returns Francis will be buried in the bench again....behind Snyder? :D

If that happens, Rick Adelman needs his ARSE kicked!

Steve needs to start to continue to get this team off to good starts and keep their confidence high. Wafer needs to be eaten by a grizzly bear and never return to the floor in a Rockets uniform!

Steve starting will make the offense easier on Tmac and Yao to score easier; along with adding Scola and Bonzi too. ;)

Clearly, Francis should be starting to give the starting lineup a 3rd viable scoring option.

The sparks off the bench will be James and Wells. Alston can play with the "sparks" to keep things under control. James is a great shooter but is a poor decision maker and average ball handler. Let Alston distribute the ball to our 2nd unit.

Replace rafer. Rafer doesn't give you a threat offensively, he just dribbles the ball up the floor. He doesn't space the defense, he doesn't attack the defense, they just sag off of him and either double yao or tracy. Rafer plays like ticha pienecherio of the sacramento monarchs,They just sag off of her and make you play a game of 4 on 5.

Steve gives you a threat on offense. Steve isn't even given you 75 % of what he can do. It's obvious steve is much more under control but if you let him loose a little bit I think he can give you that third scorer because he can break guys down off the dribble for pull up jumpers and drives to the hoop.

You can't give francis the starting job after only playing 2 games this season. You have to let him play some more to see who the real francis is.

You can try to pass it of as a joke now, but you were wrong.

Steve needs to start and James come off the bench. Rafer just needs to put on the injured reserve. If Francis or James start sucking, Brooks should be next.

Steve is a stat stuffer and you should be able to live with his mistakes because he makes up for them with filling up the box scores.

So what he turns the ball over because I think rafer is worse. When rafer makes entry passes the defense sags off of him giving him no angle to pass because they dare him to shoot which inturn you see a lot of rafers entry passes deflected and kncoked down because he doesn't command respect offensively.

Steve palyed 20 minutes 10 points 3 asissts 4 rebounds 2 steals 1 block and only 1 turnover.

    Rafer played 32 minutes 5 points 5 asissts 1 rebound 1 steal 1 turnover

Rafer only makes shots out of pressure of going back to the bench he isn't going to consistently make shots.

Francis should come off the bench, else the ball will be split with T-Mac and Yao. A Francis-James 1-2 punch is better when Yao isn't clogging the lane.

IMO Francis should start and get a chance to play with the starters. We have enough bench scoring anyways with Bonzi, Luther, James, and Scola.

In my mind, he's already answered the question about his fitness. Yesterday there was no one who hustled more on defense and took it harder to the rim on offense. Even though Francis missed a lot of his drives, can you imagine what kind of a weapon he would be if he had a chance to get his rhythm? Those two or three reverses were amazing.

Adelman has said all along that Francis was not playing because he did not have a good training camp, that he was not ready and not in good enough shape. Well those answers do not apply anymore, so he has no more excuses.

I have to question the basketball IQ of anyone that thinks any of our guards should start over Steve Francis...and that includes Rick Adelman! :D

We need Steve to close our games at the end of the fourth quater. If you have ever watched the Rockets' games this season, we usually plays fine for three quaters, but we just can't finish.

The knock on Steve was he would be a ball hog. He's shown that he's a willing passer so far in limited minutes. If he can learn the offense and get the team into it's plays which includes getting Yao the ball he should start. Since he's been coming off the bench and not always the PG on the floor it's hard to say he can run the team.

He did look tired last night but he was working hard pushing the ball on the break and diving on the floor for lose balls so he had a right to be tired.

A spark off the bench and comparisons to Bob Sura? When Steve is healthy, he is an All Star caliber PG. To compare Steve to Bob Sura in my opinion is an insult to Steve's talent. He should be starting - end of story.

I predicted that Steve would start over Rafer (since Rafer was FOR SURE going to be traded) and MJ coming off the bench, followed by AB. Well weren't we all wrong.. but now that I think about it I think Steve is gonna be coming off the bench as long as Rafer is still on the team. What ever happened to the Tmac/Steve can't be together on the court without a second ball?

For right now I'm happy with Steve coming off the bench as a big spark. I'm sure the starting lineup will get stagnant once in a while and Steve/MJ/Bonz can come in to provide a quick spark for the team. I think Snyder and Head should be kept on the bench unless we really need them when everybody starts sucking and we need that change of scenery.

what difference does it make? did you notice how well we played with our starting unit yesterday?

i think the fact that RA was willing to try so many different combinations was an excellent call. granted you gotta to figure wells will take most of the minutes snyder got, but it was refreshing and exciting to watch last night.

it's an insult to Sura you mean. Sura gave his all for the 1-2 years he was here. he never showed up to camp out of shape and his IQ was often overlooked. EVERYONE loved Sura. he was and always will be my favorite Rockets player ever
