While we wait on the 6pm newsconference, thought I'd get the jump on everyone and start this inevitable thread. Assuming Dream is gone for the rest of the season, is it time for him to hang 'em up? True, he had a tremendous couple of weeks around the All-Star break, but could he have anything approaching the same a year from now? My gut feeling is no. ------------------
He can not end his career like this. His final game, scoreless in Atlanta? No way. He has to sign with someone, and go out strong. I would prefer that he resign with the Rockets. His career can not end like this. ------------------ Re-elect President Gore!
At this point I could care less. I don't think he has any desire to finish his career as a Rocket.. ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
Just as an addendum, they've put Dream on an anticoagulant (coumadin). The treatment will last 3-6 months, and will not require surgery. That means he will probably be able to work out, and stay in something approaching "conditioning" (if not "basketball shape"). I still think its time. Regardless, thanks for the memories Hakeem, as no matter what happens, this is almost certainly the end of his Rockets career. ------------------
I hate for him to go out like that, but all I know is that if he doesnt come back and play for us...then yes definitely he should retire. I am so used to him being a Rocket that I think if I saw him in another teams uniform it would send me into shock...and I would be unable to watch. ------------------
I'll think I'll have to treat it as if he were actually Dream's evil twin brother from the bad part of Nigeria. Assuming, of course, that there is actually a good part of Nigeria. ------------------ "One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them; One ring to bring them all and on the court unite them. In the land of Houston where the Rockets lie."
