Should Christian Wood be almost untouchable... or what?

  1. No, he's too fragile

  2. No, he doesn't fit our timeline

  3. He SHOULD NOT be traded.

  4. Yes, someone would have to bowl us over with an offer

I'm curious as to what strategy you all think we should employ regarding CW. A good argument could be made for untouchable right now...Work on his THICCness...Play him at the 5. Maybe even get a big center and play him at PF.
At the same time, he is rather fragile and also MIGHT not fit our timeline. (bit of an attitude too)We could get a big haul.

I like CW and really want to see him here for Year 2 with some added weight/strength. I think he can play 4/5, but if KO is resigned then he's seeing more time at 4, which I think is fine.

With that said, if someone will give us a building block combo of a really good young player and 1st round pick(s) then I think we need to consider it strongly.

I voted to not trade him, but really, no one is "untouchable." The offer would have to be crazy, however, to trade away a 25 year old 20/10 center with a .6 TS who shoots 3s at a decent clip.

Personally I am not into touching him.

Without Harden stuffing his stats, it doesn't really make that much sense but hell, his contract is friendly.

Subsidized because he is rather sidelined. A different approach to stay healthier, taking into consideration mental health as well.

I fear that the dude might be going down an Anthony Davis route. Extremely skilled, but potential will never be realized because he's in street clothes all the time.

No rush in deciding all that.....

Whether we keep our top 4 pick is far more relevant.

If there were to be a C-Wood convo I would hope it would be initiated by the other team. Shirley, there is a price. A high price, but a price. I’m not looking for it to be met and yet, meet it/exceed it and ok, ta ta C-Wood.

BTW - I don’t know what the price is but it’s exorbitant.

I knew ND of think the Rockets are hoping Wood and Tate (Wall and Gordon?) prevent the kiddos from being dreadful beyond next season. I imagine they'd both be moved for young pieces or picks that line up a bit better with KPJ, Martin and the incoming picks. I would consider moving Wood and Tate to Toronto for Anunoby and their lottery pick.

I wouldn't call a guy with a severely sprained ankle fragile. That can happen to anybody at anytime.
Also I don't see the attitude part. That's called having the "Mamba mentality". The whole team should have it.
As far as trading him, now is not the time to do so. Believe it or not we are close to being a pretty good team if only a couple of things were to happen. Get a star, draft 1 or 2. Tall order but not impossible.

Christian Wood is 26, mid-career, and his team just went 17-55. He can be a very good player if he can stay healthy, but how could anyone consider him to be untouchable?
