...and fire Gay Kubiak, and then name Wade Phillips as interim coach?

Gary shouldnt(and wont) be fired (if the Texans lose to the Titans) on the Titans game alone. No and no.

Wasting your time even thinking about it. The only way Kubes is going anywhere before season's end (if even then) is if we just fall apart.

That means being worse than 5-7 after 12 games. We'd have to lose 5 or 6 straight to even think about it.

Talk is cheap. Time to stand and deliver last year, the year before, etc, etc. Blah blah blah.

Time to stand and deliver but...Kris Brown was kicking the ball.

Time to stand and deliver but...Chris Brown and Steve Slaton were running the ball.

Time to stand and deliver but...Frank Bush was the D-coordinator(and the D was historically bad).

Time to stand and deliver but...Brian and Duane were suspended.

Time to stand and deliver but...DeMeco got hurt and injuries hurt us.

Time to stand and deliver but...we lost in such heartbreaking fashion. At least we were close!

Time to stand and deliver but...Mario is out for the season and Andre missed a few weeks.

Time to stand and deliver but...there was a shortened offseason.

Time to stand and deliver but...Wade is only in his first year as DC. Give it time.

Time to stand and deliver but...there's always next year if not.

I definately will be pissed if we lose to the Titans, but that lose wouldn't by itself wouldn't be the last straw. Our defense is under a new system and continues to improve. Our offense has been hampered by injuries to starting skill positions. I don't think Kubiak's "line in the sand" won't be drawn until next year.

I didn't realize this until now... We played @ Baltimore with the Ravens coming off a bye, and now we play @ Tennessee with the Titans coming off a bye. The NFL scheduling committee really screwed us over on that one....

Uncle Bob is apparently too stubborn to admit he hired the wrong guy - twice.

Let the season play out. Firing a coach until you're absolutely eliminated is dumb.

His contract is up at the end of 2012. Same with Dennison. And Schaub.

    Wade is signed through 2013.

My guess is, unless we win less than 7 games this year, Kubiak comes back.

If you want Kubiak gone, you might as well start day dreaming about tanking, either this season or the next. Preferably this season, because if we manage 10 regular season wins, or a playoff victory, then Kubes is bound to get an extension. That means an extension for Schaub, too, FYI.

But unfortunately if Kubiak does get fired, I think that would mean Wade takes over, and we go find a new OC. Probably another guy from the same Denver pipeline/philosophy. If Bob decides to go out and find a new HC, my guess is that guy will have to sign off on keeping Wade as DC before Bob will hire him. Chances of that are pretty slim. And if we find someone who DOES agree to that, he will probably be some noob coach. Schaub's future would also be up in the air, as the new coach/OC might want to start fresh there.

Should have been fired two seasons ago. He will likely be here for ever, many consecutive losing seasons to come. I won't be buying tickets, trinkets, or watching, but McNair will still be packing them in to watch the Oilers, er I mean the Texans find new ways lose. And Kubiak will be helping.

I was just looking at that/thinking about that yesterday. Gary runs through '12. Not sure about all those other guys but I assume you're right. Know who also runs through '12? Rick Smith. This isnt the option I prefer, but why wouldn't Bob just let them finish it out or give it one(a seventh) last try(even if they fall short again this year)? With that, yeah, I can definitely see him come back for a 7th season.

As much as I want him gone, no. The Titans are favored to win. McNair isn't going to fire a guy for losing a game we're expected to lose. Maybe if we get slaughtered 56-3 or if we lose to not only to Tennessee but to Jacksonville and Cleveland as well, but not just by losing this one.

If we lose to Jacksonville and Cleveland we will have effectively ended our playoff chances, depending on how Tennessee is doing.

At that point, a loss to Tampa would warrant a firing, name Wade HC during the bye week, let Dennison finish the year. Hire a new OC for 2012, draft a QB, trade Schaub (and possibly AJ) if you can, and then start rebuilding from there.

Everybody had Kubiak fired last year and hes back!

7-9 = the lockout effected us, missed mario, missed andre, missed foster etc etc etc...

    Next year is the year!

Dude should have been fired last year...reality is that even if we lose tomorrow the schedule lines up perfectly for a nice run.

Only games that worry me after tomorrow are the Falcons and Bucs' games but it would leave you with almost no room for error after that.

If there was ever a year to start the rebuild, the QB class in 2012 look ripe with talent. But it would be ridiculous that Wade is the de-facto HC, when we saw how soft he runs a team.
