I think Donyell Marshall is definitely the best option at PF via FA, but he's probably got only one or two more years that he'll be a valuable piece. Or maybe you go for SAR, who's younger, but most likely not as good of a fit. Draft a swingman like Kennedy Winston, Francisco Garcia or Joey Graham. Sura and James remain the point guards and we hope Sura can hold up for a whole year plus the postseason.
Do you guys wanna replace Sura and/ or Howard or atleast draft their successors. I guess for me it comes down to who is available in the draft. I really think a guy like Diogu or a consistently healthy Simien will be very solid pros and could immediately contribute for Houston. My dream offseason would be to draft Jarrett Jack or Ike Diogu and then get a vet like Donyell Marshall or Antonio Daniels

I agree with a lot here.

I put SAR or Swift as much more desirable potential PF acquisitions because of DM's age. Further, DM and JH age's are very close, so as one needs more rest and athletically slows down, the other probably will almost lockstep. If we pick up DM we might still need to draft for a PF this year even if that guy will mostly learn on the bench this year because we need that guy (e.g., Diogu, Simien, Turiaf, Warrick) to pick up the slack when DM/JH become more limited players.

I think a SF or guard is also a likely consideration in the draft. But it depends if we are confident via FA we can settle the 4 spot.

The other PF I would like to consider is Reggie Evans. I might prefer him or Marshall for about the same money/year primarily because of Evans' age.

I don't see AD as very likely unless with a S&T for Sura or James, and I would not do more than add a #2 to make it happen. I am OK to start the season with Sura/James + possible Spanoulis or a rook at the 1 spot, I rather pick up an extra swingman.

    Ideal offseason

-Resign Deke (like 2 years 7 mil) and Barry (1 year vet min)

-Full MLE for Swift, or Full MLE or S&T (Spoon +#1 + NY2nd) for SAR

-Half of MLE (if not used up) or vet exem (about 2 year 3.5 mil) for best available vet 2/3 or 3/2 (e.g., Raja Bell, Spree, Kittles).

-with no immediate needs, just draft best available

I think before we can make any move at all we need more Potential Rocket Profiles in order to make the wisest decisions.
