Just listening to Blur (Song 2) and I still can't believe how much ass kicking can be squeezed into two minutes of music. Usually I can't get into shorter songs like this, but for some reason this song defies all logic to me. Anyone know of any other songs, say shorter than three minutes, that kick ass?
its alrite to tell me what u think about me i wont try to argue or hold it against u i no that ur leavin u must have ur reasons... oo i love thats song!! best blink song by far.
When i read the title of the thread, I immediately thought of Song 2. Great song. The only other short song I can think of right now is "Fell In Love With A Girl" by the White Stripes...memory lapse.
I also thought of song 2 by blur when i read the title. mmmmmmmmmmmm pop Every single white stripes song kicks sweet aSs, besides the one about growing up with your girlfriend, which brings up feelings of hatred and anger. Also all of Tenacious D's non-album song, HBO specials i mean.
Led Zepplin-Stairway to Heaven............lol j/k Blink 182- Whats my age again Blink 182- Family Reunion prob more just cant think of them
Pretty much any Misfits song (with Danzig as the singer, dammit) fits into this category. Also, any "real" punk (sorry Sonics, but Blink 182 past Dude Ranch is not punk) would fit in here like Ramones, Buzzcocks, Less Than Jake, Rancid, Operation Ivy, etc.
"Into Your Arms" (2:41) by The Lemonheads "Prayer of St. Francis" (1:56) by Sarah McLachlan See I don't hate everything about Christianity
I thought Sarah McLachlan was athiest or agnostic?... Building A Mystery you come out at night that's when the energy comes and the dark side's light and the vampires roam you strut your rasta wear and your suicide poem and a cross from a faith that died before Jesus came you're building a mystery I could be wrong tho...
She is agnostic but she made a version of this old Christian song/hymn. "Prayer of St. Francis" Lord make me an instrument of your peace Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon Where there is doubt, faith Where there is despair, hope Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, joy O divine master grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console to be understood as to understand To be loved as to love For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned And it's in dying that we are born to eternal life Amen The song was played in its entirety in the Buffy season 6 finale.
It's pretty funny, but if you've seen a recent Blur interview, sorta around the time whazis-name went off to do the whole Gorillaz thing, it's obvious how much everybody in the band hates this song. None of them can stand it.
"Ski Bunny" - Boss Hog - 2:00 "Caught by the Fuzz" - Supergrass - 2:16 "Zero" - Smashing Pumpkins - 2:30 "Connection" - Elastica - 2:20 == just on the other side of the line == "Search & Destroy" - Iggy & the Stooges - 3:29 "Suffragette City" - David Bowie - 3:24 "Seether" - Veruca Salt - 3:16 that's all I can think of off the top of my head. (times courtesy of my MP3 collection)
Good calls! Some others: "Debaser" by the Pixies. - 2:53 "Buddy Holly" by Weezer. - 2:40 "Big Me" by Foo Fighters. (don't know if this one really kicks arse, but still damn good!) - 2:12 "Rape Me" by Nirvana - 2:49
