From the latest issue of Slam:
Con ma facilidad que le tomara entender esta frase, Oscar Torres hizo un impacto inesperado y decisivo en la ultima temorada de el NBA. Confused? What I wrote was: With more ease than it will take to understand this sentence, Oscar Torres made an unexpected and decisive impact in the NBA last season. And it's true, even with an American basketball history that had previously consisted of nothing more than brief minor league runs in '99-00 and in the '01 Fila Summer Pro League. But those experiences got him on the NBA radar, and after the Rockets watched this Venezuelan play in last summer's World Championship Quallifying tournament, they were impressed enough to sign him.
An athletic 6-6 wing, the 25-year-old Torres rewarded Houston's faith, earning 13 starts in 65 games and averaging 6.0 ppg and 1.9 rpg. And the highlight? "Playing against Jordan, the best ever in the basketball world," says Torres, reached recently in his hometown of Puerta La Cruz. Growing up, Torres watched NBA games when he could, and that mean the Bulls. Natuarally, MJ became his hero, though he also had one closer to home. "Carlos Herrera is like a mentor to me," says Torres of the Venezuelan star who played for the Rockets in the early '90s. With his personality and entertaining stlye- as well as an appearance in the coming World Championships and a re-upped contract in H-Town- Torres might himself become a hero in Venezuela. Good to see that someone outside of Houston has noticed him.

LOL. Not all of it is in Spanish, just the first sentence or two. It translates it in the sentence after that.

Actually, the Rocks only have to exercise an option on his contract for next year. Thus, OT is signed for next year if the Rocks still want him.

I thought they had an option that expired July 1 without them exercising it. I think that they will have to sign a new contract if they want him.
