What's happening? Our guards are taking better shots? JVG is doing a really good job!

cat is a damn good shooter. people may disagree, but he is the best shooter on our team. and yes cat is taking better shots this year and yes JVG is doing a better job with the offense. obviously both of those percentages will come down since cat started off the season 17 of 23, but i like how we've started.

That right. The system is helping them get EASIER shots. They are just "open more" in the "flow of the shot."

Gotta love the pick and role. Or the screen, catch and shoot!

Anyone who has gone to a game and watched the shoot arounds would know Cat is the best shooter on the team. I went to 12 games last year and the guy just doesn't miss when his feet are set. Unlike Glen Rice who have there spots on the floor, Cat would just make all his shots from all over the floor. The only thing holding Cat back is his decision making. Decision making is definitely better this year and JVG is doing a better job at getting him looks where he can set his feet.

Also keep in mind that he has 2 good ankles for the first time since the 45 win season.

I think this is the first time in a long time that Cat has 2 healthy ankles. He has been plagued by injuries the last couple of years and still managed to play 40+ minutes. Once Piatkowski gets back, Cat will get some more rest and hopefully stay healthy.

If the numbers were below .400 and .300
    Would that be JVG's Fault?

I got to the game like 72 minutes before gametime...and the only Rockets shooting on the court were Mobley, Piatkowski, and Wilks. Piatkowski and Wilks eventually left..but Mobley shot the entire time. He would miss a lot...but then make a lot...he was the only Rocket out while the Magic had like their entire team shooting around. Moochie ran out for like 1 minute and shot a couple then left. Braggs did the same thing. But Mobley was the only one who stayed and shot. I would think he would get tired of shooting balls for one hour...but when it was gametime, he made the shots! He's a great shooter!

Francis...didn't practice at all before...but he was on fire! Makin everything...

I like our WINs and our winning attitude but the way we play has a long way to go.

From tomorrow morning's Chronicle, courtesy of Jonathan Feigan:

    Mobile Mobley

Rockets guard Cuttino Mobley's phenomenal shooting start will not help the cause of coaches who expect players to go through strenuous offseason workouts. Coming back from surgery to both ankles and believing he had worn himself out in previous summers, Mobley cut back on his usual offseason work.

He said he has felt stronger and fresher, and through five games he has made 53.4 percent of his shots and 66.7 percent of his 3-pointers. After five games last season, he had made 41 percent of his shots and 35 percent of his 3-pointers.

"The big difference for me is me staying on top of my conditioning," Mobley said. "Last year, I was really hurt. This summer really helped me, putting on weight. That's helping me play to the level I want to play at every night."

A bit of an explanation? Many of us have thought Cat (and Steve) have been overdoing it during the offseason for years... well, Cat finally figured that out and it shows.
