That the sale is virtually done means Shinn won't be looking to unload debt (long term contracts) to enhance the market value of the team.

I'm sure the team will still press hard to dump Peja, but this hurts the odds of Paul being made available.

But, it is probably good for the league. Shinn wasn't a good owner, imo, and now we get another chance with the new guy.

Agreed. Hornets should still be in Charlotte. the way he killed that relationship was abhorrent.

The deal has been in the making for months (or years?), so nada new re: CP3. BTW - it would take Paul to move Peja.

dont get why people think its fathomable to get chris paul, who would show up to the games if the hornets traded away paul, as much of a cry baby he is on the court ive never heard him complain about his help or ask for out of new orleans, trading him would be ridiculous...

It'd probably take Peja to move Paul, yes. Though there's Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton who are good young trade assets. Can add them and a draft pick to package with Peja. Though the Hornets would really have nothing left BUT Chris Paul.

    Also from the article:
Shinn used the Hornets for making money. Though the new owner will still do the same, he doesnt have to be as penny pinching because he makes his money in other businesses, not from the NBA.
