I don't know if anyone else saw this, but there was a story about Shawn Respert, the former NBA Player and #8 Draft Pick in the 1995 draft pick. It says he had cancer during his career, but he didn't tell anyone except his coach and the people who treated him. He still went to practice while being on radiation treatments! Now he's working at Rice under coach Willis Wilson. What a story...
Yeah, this got a lot of press a while back ... you would think that more people would in the NBA world would have known, especially if he were traded and was given a physical.
wow, I know a lot of things about the NBA in general.. never knew this one. And I constantly cite Respert as an example of a "badass college scoring guard who was too short to be that in the NBA"...as well as wondering why he didn't become what Ben Gordon is.
