MAN I hope he's okay! That was a NASTY spill. For those who didn't see it, Marion jumped over Starks back for a rebound and fell on his shoulder and his head kind of bounced on the floor. He was put on a neck brace and stretchered out. Of course the Phoenix Suns fans showed how "knowledgeable" they are by BOOING Starks because Marion jumped OVER Starks and got hurt! If Marion doesn't get hurt it's an over-the-back. And Starks tried to catch Marion and immediately went to see if he was ok even though he didn't cause the injury. Real class acts those Suns fans are. I lost a lot of respect for them today.

    Bull****!

Starks showed his punk ass by undercuting the guy that was having a great game.

He knew what he was doing!

    I HATE THE SPAZZ!!!

My opinion on the situation lies between both of yours. I didn't think Marion went over the back, he was undercut by starks. However, starks didn't do it on purpose.

Very bad play. He feel extremly hard on the floor. He couldnt move and was shivering.

I hope he gets well and doesnt mess up his career. This is a very bad injury, I dont think he can come back this year.

Give me a break no he didn't! This wasn't the Jazz doing this, or Starks doing that. If you have a personal feeling about Starks, doesn't mean he did anything. Starks was STANDING ON THE FLOOR waiting for the ball to come down, and Marion leaped over his back and came down on Starks. Starks didn't do anything. It wasn't Starks' "punk ass" as you so eloquently put it, because if you bothered to look at the replay you would see that Starks tried to catch. And know I don't hate the Jazz enough to blame them for injuring a guy when it WASN'T his fault, and no Starks didn't do ANYTHING wrong. Anybody who actually saw that would have to be insane to say Starks did that on purpose. And I hope Marion is ok, that was scary.

They just reported Marion had a concussion, but nothing really serious, no fractures or anything in his back, or skull or vertabrae, or anything horrific like that. No tingling or anything. VERY good news so far.

I saw the replay 3 times. Starks leaned in, and shifted his weight under Marion.

Anybody, and I do mean anybody, that began thinking about the Rockets' playoff chances as Marion was wheeled off, should be ashamed.

You know what mc mark this conspiracy garbage is getting tired and old. Starks didn't do anything. It was a bad situation that almost resulted in something tragic like a young man getting badly hurt or having his career nearly ended. Cut out this "Starks and the Jazz are evil" crap because it's just disrespectful and rubs me the wrong way after this situation.

Thank you, God. Look everybody, I'm as fanatical about my Rockets as anybody, but to actually just kind of "shake off" the idea of an outstanding young player with an extremely promising future being seriously hurt is gong MUCH too far. Let's keep this in perspective. Look, if Steve went down the same way Shawn did (and good Lord, it looked pretty bad) and Nuggets fans were breaking out saying "I don't feel really bad about him getting hurt, because it really helps our playoff chances getting another team out of the way," we'd be calling for each and every one of their heads.

Just saw on ESPNews--just a concussion, he's going to be okay. Thank goodness.

I couldn't agree more grummett. The first thing that popped in my mind when I saw that was "Oh my god he separated his shoulder". Then when he didn't move all kind of thoughts of spinal injuries and thing like that popped in my head. It just scared me because you don't want to see ANYBODY get hurt, not Francis, not Mobley, not Dream, Not Karl Malone, not Scottie Pippen. You don't want to see someone's career potentially come to an end and thank god it didn't happen to Marion.

Why does it rub you the wrong way? Maybe because it might be true?

I'm not trying to start a fight with you. But actions speak louder than words.

An auful lot of players have been hurt by the jazz in the last few of years.

Why do you think that is?

Starks didn't really move. He just stayed there as Marion came down on his back.

I don't think it was intentional.

RocksMillenium already paraphrased this, but the following blurb is from the game recap on www.espn.com and the AP :

    -----------------------------

According to the Suns team physician, Marion has a concussion but does not have a neck fracture or any type of nerve damage that would cause paralysis. He was taken to a Phoenix hospital wearing a neck brace. He will have an MRI and cat scan at the hospital. He was able to stand before he was taken to the hospital.

Marion's condition was not immediately known. He was still being treated at America West Arena 20 minutes after the game, at which time the Suns said he had not yet been taken to a local hospital.

I'm not going to get into it with you either mc mark. Because if the first thought in your mind was that Starks and the Jazz were trying to cripple and paralyze Shawn Marion I feel sorry for you. The Jazz are one of the dirtest teams I have ever seen, no question, but to sit there and say they tried to take out Shawn Marion purposely because "They are the Utah Jazz", is just stupid and I don't even want to get into this. By the way, the Jazz haven't been all that physical this season, shockingly enough. And Starks has been a calm player for the better part of 5 years, even more shockingly. No he didn't lean his shoulder in to try to cripple Marion, no he didn't do it on purpose, and yes Marion was actually at fault for leaping over Starks like he was Superman and thankfully nothing serious came out of it.

All we know is that their is no permanent damage. He could still very well be injured. When I first saw the play, I didnt think it looked that bad, but when I saw it on the replay it was VERY bad. I hope he recovers quickly.

and speak for yourself because Rocket players are not "feeling good" about Marion hurting himself.

Clutch, If you are not a rocket player then you dont know what they are feeling. Im saying they are feeling a little better now knowing the suns are weaker team. Not happy because Marion is down.
