As a Rockets fan first (and a Duke fan 2nd), I say this with some trepidation. I love Randolf. He was one of my favorite players the past 3 years at Duke. He can hit the college three(good for 20 fters in the L), dunks HARD on people, a tough rebounder. But his problem is staying healthy and playing smart defense (like Yao, he often picks up dumb fouls in a hurry). My question is, do you think that Randolf would be a good 2nd round pick for the Rox? I'm not sure, but I think he could be a steal there. He has a ton of potential.

    Thoughts??

If you love him so much, why don't you marry him (or at least spell his name right)? ;)

Just kidding... I'd be shocked if Randolph amounted to much in the NBA.

He plays terrible defense. He tries to pick up charges in the paint, instead of trying to block the shot. I think hes also a little small to play the 4 in the NBA.

I'd be suprised to see him on an NBA roster.

If the Rockets got Randolph in the second round it would be a joke, not a steal! Duke's biggest weakness this year was their lack of depth behind Ewing, Williams and Reddick. I am certainly not a Duke fan, but I would think that you, being one, would not care for the guy because he has not come close to living up to expectations. If the Rockets did want this guy for some reason, they could call him up to come to summer league because he will certainly not be drafted.

He sucks. I can't believe even a Duke homer would promote him.

He's terrible, no other way to describe it. To think some scouts had this guy ranked ahead of Amare and Carmelo is just inexplicable.

man, some of you guys are harsh! Yeah, I'm a homer, so I'm going to try and protect my guy, but I'm not a big fan of him leaving early. I think one more year would have helped him, and selfishly, given Duke depth. for those of you who claim that Duke's biggest weakness was depth at G, you are clearly mistaken. This team's biggest weakness was depth at EVERYWHERE. Who is Williams back up?? I thought Randolf did a solid job of providing offense off the bench. His main problem has been staying healthy. I honestly believe he could have been better, not neccesarily lived up to the hype around him, had he not had that hip injury and mono which both sidelined him for a extended period of time. Just my thoughts.

and yeah, I can believe I didn't spell his name correctly on the post.......well UNC fans, what do you expect from a Dukie??

i don't know why any team in would take him in the first round. i think he is possibly one of the most overhyped prep players EVER. he hasn't done jack squat at duke and shouldn't have even be a starter there. don't like the kid, should at least stay in school and get a degree from duke so he can have some type of future.

If that guy ever gets drafted in the first round then there is something seriously wrong with the nba draft.

I think he's headed back to Duke. His draft stock is pretty low right now. I haven't heard his name mentioned much at all.

Can't see the find the article but I remember reading a couple days ago that Randolf was going to withdraw from the draft and return for another season.

Good, that is defly the right move for him. I'm glad as a Duke fan too-more depth up front.

By the way, for those of you trashing me for suggesting him with our first round pick, I NEVER suggested that. I said 2nd round. Those of you who trashed me for suggesting it in general......yeah, you're probablly right.
