http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3821/gamelog;_ylt=An5h3WOS.cQV4cZhOL0BTvT2PKB4 It's for a crappy Wizards team, but he's been logging productive minutes of late (and his body is holding up, at least so far). Might not be a bad guy to go after for Morey-- though maybe he'd want to go to a less crowded roster to get more minutes.
I was looking at his yahoo stat log and saw his picture and he totally looks like Dre. Miller. Scary!
Basketball IQ wise, he was, and is, awesome. I would give anything to have AB pace a game like Livingston does...
Livingston vs Kyle Lowry stat comparison for fun Code: Livington Post All-Star break (25 Games) FG% 3P% FT% MP PTS TRB AST .537 .000 .909 25.5 9.2 2.2 4.3 Lowry Full Season total FG% 3P% FT% MP PTS TRB AST .397 .274 .827 24.4 9.2 3.7 4.4 Two different styles of play. Livingston will NOT shoot a 3 unless forced to, only at "gunpoint" (in Washington...not funny) But you can take Livingston's numbers for a backup point guard on a lot of teams.
Very happy for the guy. I hope he keeps up the hard work this summer. He is an excellent excellent PG. I think he is among the top 5 passers in the league easily. Unfortunately, he's not much of a scorer. I think he would have been excellent had he not been injured and had the time to polish his offensive game. He still has time though. I hope he goes to an uptempo team where he would be used best. I think he would be fantastic for the Rockets - but we are fortunate to have both Brooks and Lowry.
That is interesting, if Kyle is traded then he would be a nice addition to our backup PG spot. And it would make our dual PG lineup even better as Livingston is 6'7" tall.....we would not be the midgets anymore. DD
He's definitely an asset to any team. a 6'7 point guard that will defend SG's so that your combo guard can guard the opponents PG and just focus on scoring.
Shaun Livingston has become this year's Ramon Sessions (I'm sure several here remember this guy but would like to forget what they posted about him). Livingston will do good to make the rotation of a decent team. That's the best he will ever do. He was on a decent team (OKC) earlier in the season but was dumped to a bottom-feeder because they found a rookie to replace him. OKC is all about developing young players for the future but they found Shaun Livingston lacking. Like with Ramon Sessions, maybe the actions of a relatively smart team with a player give an indication of how good the player is. Just something to think about. I also can't understand why some here think he was so great with the Clippers. Livingston will never be a great player in the NBA. His comeback is very inspiring and I sincerely wish him well, but let's stay in the real world. He was NOT on any kind of superstar trajectory.
No, but he was on his way to becoming a 15/7 type PG which is still very good. Plus he would've created a massive matchup problem for opposing teams. Remember he came straight from HS. In his third year before his injury when he was 20 he put up 9Pts/5Asts/3.5Rbs with 46.3FG%, which was up from his 42.7FG% from his second year.
Rich Bucher tweeted several times during a Wiz game over the weekend that Livingston absolutely will not go to the rim...even on a fastbreak. That knee injury is in his head forever. I don't get all the love the guy gets. He was a decent young player who had the potential to be a good player. That's it. He wasn't going to be an All Star or probably even a starter on a good team.
