sorry if somebody made a thread about this already but Shaun Livingston is going to be a UFA. Should the rockets consider signing him?

Mentioned before, but no thread for it yet.

Wouldn't mind trying him out, but not expecting much. Need to see the video where he breaks his knees again?

If he is healthy he is a big guard, who can play. But only if he is healthy! There maybe a reason the Clippers are passing on this young man.

The poor kid pretty much tore up every single ligament in his knee on that play. Thats why the Clippers refuse to give him a long term deal, and I don't think the rockets should either.

From what I have heard about the injury, he is never going to get back to the state he was in before the injury.

No no no, next year we wanna be a HEALTHLY TEAM and Livingston's health is a big question...

I like him, though. He is a really good young player who can play.

Yes, I agree the Clippers need help and they would not just let him walk unless there is something wrong.

No way do I want this guy. If you thought T-Mac and Yao were injury prone..this guy is off the charts in comparison.

I think Morey should take a look at him, he's 6-7 so can be a combo guard. We need size and he has great potential, I think he can be worth the risk. Its not like we're getting some big name from FA anyway unless his name is Ron Artest, Maggette or Diop.

wth? Why would you want him?

You know how bad he was playing before he was injured? If you watched clippers games you would know, he lost all his confidence after his great rookie year fans were real dissapointed in him

If he comes cheap and we don't get anyone better from FA, why not? He's no where near the top of my list though. Top priority is Ron Artest.

No, this guys career is over. He tore every single ligament in that knee, and tore some cartilage in the process.

    Hes done.

Livingston can't shoot worth a lick. I don't care how tall he is, he ain't no SG or combo guard.

He is a tall PG that just had a MAJOR knee injury.

    We don't want him.

Living in LA for the past few years I've watch Shaun play since his rookie season. Yes he is very injury prone. But if healthy, here's what he can bring...

    strengths
Speed - fast down the court, pushes like D.Harris
Quickness - good lateral movement on defense, able to keep his body in front of players
Post up game - at 6'7 he's big for a PG and uses his height as an advantage on offense, finishes well inside
Legit PG - good handles and can dribbles under pressure

    Weaknesses
rail thin body - does get pushed around by smaller stronger guards
    fatigue - gets tired
shooting - poor shooting, really streaky
Passing - takes too many risky passes inside for alley oops

Summary - a PG first, rare talent at 6'7 with good handles, has court vision but seems to take the risk on the difficult passes. Quick with the ball and looks to push constantly. Shooting can be hot for a game or not, can quickly put up 10pts in just a couple of mins of play. Intelligent and speaks well, not immature in the sense of loosing his cool in games.

He's like A.Hardaway in size and handles, has a quiet and laid back attitude but confident like T-Mac, can go inside and post up, but outside game needs work.

Everytime it looks like he's about to break out and become an impact player or ready to be the starting PG for the Clippers he gets injured. He's got the tools and it's easy to see why he was drafted so high: he can handle, can score in bunches, can rebound. Before his injury he was avg 9pts, 5ast, 3rbs and 1stl in just his third season. The potiential is there for a good starting PG but still needs refining.
